Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Orlando, FL
Employment Type: Contract (12 months)
Industry: Manufacturing
Compensation: $55.00 /hr.
Schedule: 40 hrs/Week. - (1 st shift)
About the Opportunity:
  • Implements the agreed commodity and SQM strategy (including value, digitalization, and collaboration).
  • Drives supplier performance and continuous improvement, and collaborates in supplier development programs.
  • Creates and negotiates General Quality and Quality Assurance agreements and monitors supplier contract coverage rate.
  • Applies preventive quality methods aimed at risk minimization.
  • Designs, maintains, and improves specific quality requirements, specifications, and concepts based on supplier and product/service risk assessment.
  • Supports standardized supplier qualification process according to corporate guidelines (ready for business).
  • Coordinates product/service qualifications and approvals based on specific requirements/specifications (ready to order).
  • Actively involved in projects to support/review specifications & requirements.
  • Implements complaints managements to detect and analyze non-conformances, verifies root cause analysis, and communicates with the supplier.

What You'll Do:
  • Supports sustainable problem-solving.
  • Plans and executes supplier audits, including follow-up of audit measures.

  • As a Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer, your day will be filled with engaging interactions with suppliers, analyzing data, and driving continuous improvement.
  • You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met, while fostering relationships with our valued suppliers.
  • Lead Product Qualification Activities at Suppliers - Product and Process Qualifications (PPQs).
  • Contain, manage, and resolve Quality issues relating to supplier non-conforming components identified at Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) client assembly facilities, warehouses, or customers globally.
  • Manage suppliers to properly handle non-conformance issues.
  • Assist with process improvements.
  • Lead supplier root cause investigations and corrective actions through the Problem Resolution process.
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing capability issues within the supply chain to ensure business continuity.
  • Identify and support cost reduction opportunities through interaction with the Supply Chain/Strategic Business.
  • Audit existing and potential suppliers to determine the capability of manufacturing and ensure quality systems are in place.
  • Develop supplier capability to meet current and future requirements.
  • Interact with customer-facing businesses to investigate potential product non-conformances.
  • Product manufacturing development and improvement via regular in-person presence at supplier sites.
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Quality or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in complex manufacturing space, especially welding and complex machining.
  • 3+ years of experience in working with or at manufacturing facilities.
  • 3+ years of experience in working with critical parts (Complex parts such as disc, shaft, complex assemblies).

  • Self-directed and self-motivated employee, requiring minimal oversight.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM), and Quality Control routines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with the design engineering organization to ensure parts are manufacturable.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-problem investigations simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated attitude and ownership of projects.
  • Ability to project manage Product and Process Qualifications and unexpected Supplier Quality Issues from beginning to end.
  • Knowledge of inspection methodologies and assessment of inspection capability.
  • Proven track record of application of Quality improvement processes and tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
  • SAP experience.
Additional Information:
  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check.
  • Ability to travel 20-50% to the supplier in Connecticut, as needed.
