JOB DESCRIPTION:

For Supported Group Living (SGL) sites (Hoosier and Blair House group homes in Bloomington), we provide transitional and supportive housing for adults 18 years of age and older with severe mental illness. The purpose of the SGLs (group homes) is to coach clients in addressing barriers and attaining skills that are needed to support them in successfully moving into a more independent setting in the community within two years (program maximum). The part time BHT helps to carry this out, by providing life skills training and support to up to 10 clients in a group home setting. The BHT staff work with clients on handling and completing a range of daily tasks including, but not limited to: meal preparation, community integration, social skills, cleaning skills, motivational skills, recreational/leisure skills, medication management, responding to stressors/barriers, and promoting behaviors that support the clients' long-term independence.
BHTs must be able to attend initial and yearly in-person trainings (paid at an hourly wage), complete all required online trainings (paid an hourly wage), and be willing to commit to the BHT position for a minimum of six months. Shifts for staff are subject to the needs of the location to which staff are assigned and are determined through looking at current BHT staff availabilities. Staff typically work anywhere from 2-4 shifts per week (10-27 hours/week), but exceptions can be made, and there are often opportunities to work additional hours if desired. The following shifts are the options for part time BHTs (please ensure you have enough availability so that you would be able to work multiple options and have some weekend shift availability):
