JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary of Position

The Director of Outpatient Services supervises a regional team of Managers, Supervisors, and Clinical Providers, managing team member performance and adherence to job duties and responsibilities. The role ensures consistent, high-quality and efficient service delivery in outpatient clinical settings and across access points throughout the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises and leads a team of Managers and Supervisors to accomplish department and individual goals

  • Oversees hiring, performance improvement, and evaluation of direct reports

  • Participates in preparation and monitoring of budgets for areas of responsibility

  • Contributes to, monitors, and manages progress associates with department's strategic goals for operation

  • Responsible for meeting department-specific productivity expectations for the minimum number of hours spent providing direct client care

  • Ensures that all client documentation is accurate, aligned with best practices and adheres to organization policy

  • Participates in, or, coordinates supports in order to provide rapid aid in cases of client crisis

  • Maintains general knowledge of community resources and maintains relationships with external partners

  • Cooperates with utilization review procedures and ensures outpatient programs are following established procedures, policies and regulations

  • Is responsive and cooperative with needs and requests such as: data collection, program evaluation, etc.

  • Performs other work assignments or special functions as assigned by department leadership team

  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure successful and timely client transitions throughout various Outpatient/Inpatient programs

  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA, confidentiality standards, and data security requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic leadership and guidance to Managers and Supervisors within outpatient and access services

  • Champions change and effectively communicates and manages implementation of changes within the department

  • Handles difficult team member situations directly, using appropriate discretion and Human Resources advice to show respect for the individual

  • Reinforces team approach throughout functions; support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the organization

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to lead multi-site teams and operational change

  • Understanding of Outpatient services

  • Strong knowledge of accreditation and regulatory bodies as applicable

  • Understanding of funding, grants and budgets

  • Knowledge of Florida Medicaid, Managing Entity expectations, county and state funded behavioral health systems

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education Level

Master's degree in a behavioral health field

Years of Experience

Three+ years of leadership experience in behavioral health

Experience in outpatient and crisis services preferred

Certification/Licensure

Active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) clinical license required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel between sites

  • Ability to work in fast-paced behavioral health environment

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel:
  • Full time, exempt position

  • Hours of work are Monday through Friday with occasional evening or weekend hours required

  • Frequent local travel

Time Type:

Full time

Pay Range:

$81,850.00--$122,740.00
