JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

The Director, Adult Community Services provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for adult community-based behavioral health services across Centerstone's Florida market. This position oversees assigned service lines through program managers and is responsible for program performance, financial stewardship, compliance, community partnerships, and the development and expansion of adult community services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads through managers to support accountability, workforce development, service quality, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Provides strategic and operational oversight for adult community-based behavioral health services across Centerstone's Florida market.
  • Champions change and reinforces a collaborative, team-based approach across programs and departments
  • Leads budget development, financial oversight, billing integrity, revenue cycle performance, and fiscal accountability for assigned programs.
  • Monitors key performance indicators, quality outcomes, operational data, and financial metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Manages existing contracts, grants, and service agreements and ensures compliance with regulatory, payer, accreditation, certification, fidelity, documentation, and agency standards, including audit readiness and corrective action planning.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with community partners, healthcare systems, referral sources, funders, coalitions, and other stakeholders.
  • Represents adult community services in internal committees, interdepartmental workgroups, public forums, and external meetings as appropriate.
  • Supports the development, expansion, and redesign of adult community services in response to organizational priorities, community need, and funding opportunities.
  • Participates in required meetings, staff development activities, and special projects as assigned.

Supervisory Requirements: This position has supervisory responsibilities, which may include providing direction, training, coaching, and performance feedback in accordance with system policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead multiple adult community-based service lines through managers.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee program performance, budgeting, contracts, billing, revenue cycle operations, and key performance indicators.
  • Strong knowledge of adult behavioral health systems, recovery-oriented care, intensive community support models, substance use services, and prevention and outreach programming.
  • Ability to analyze operational, financial, and clinical data to support decision-making, performance improvement, and strategic planning.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, accreditation, payer, and documentation requirements applicable to adult community-based services.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, lead change, and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policy.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • A combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the stated minimum education, where permitted by regulation.

Experience:

  • 7 years of progressively responsible experience in adult behavioral health, substance use, community services, or related program operations.
  • 5 years of supervisory or management experience, preferably including oversight of multiple programs, sites, service lines, or managers.
  • Demonstrated experience with operational oversight, including program performance, contracts, budgets, regulatory compliance, billing, and service delivery outcomes.
  • Knowledge of adult community behavioral health systems, recovery-oriented services, intensive community support models, and community-based service coordination.
  • Experience working with payer, documentation, utilization, and performance requirements in publicly funded or managed care environments.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and ability to travel between service locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical licensure in the Florida, such as LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent.
  • Experience overseeing multiple adult community-based behavioral health programs or service lines.
  • Experience with FACT teams, targeted case management, community-based mental health and substance use programming, and prevention and outreach services.
  • Experience with program development, service expansion, grant implementation, or contract start-up.
  • Demonstrated success using data, dashboards, and key performance indicators to improve operational performance, compliance, financial performance, and service outcomes.
  • Experience collaborating with managed care entities, funders, healthcare systems, and community partners.
  • Knowledge of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered service delivery models.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

Work is performed in an office, clinical, residential, and/or community-based environment depending on role and assignment. The position may involve routine use of office, clinical, or electronic systems and equipment. Duties may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and working at a computer. Work hours may include evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended shifts based on program needs. This position is classified as sedentary work. Sedentary work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

Conditional Additions:

  • Community / Travel-Based Work: Duties may require travel between locations or within the community, including transporting clients or attending off-site meetings.
  • Clinical / Medical Environment Exposure: Work may involve exposure to medical or clinical environments, including potential contact with infectious materials, requiring adherence to safety and infection control protocols.

Full time

Pay Range:

$74,400.00--$111,600.00
