WHAT YOU'LL DO

Western States Cat is looking for a results-oriented Associate Recruiter to add to our dynamic, successful Talent Acquisition team, specializing in customer care. This position supports the full-cycle recruiting process by sourcing, screening, and coordinating candidates for a variety of roles. This role will require a passion for building relationships, delivering strong candidate experience, and developing expertise in talent acquisition.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to understand role requirements, qualifications, and hiring priorities
  • Source candidates through job boards, social media, networking, and database searches (e.g., LinkedIn, Indeed)
  • Review resumes and conducts initial candidate screenings to assess qualifications and cultural alignment
  • Coordinate interviews, including scheduling, communication, and logistics with candidates and hiring teams
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Ensure a positive, professional candidate experience throughout the hiring process
  • Support recruitment initiatives such as career fairs, campus recruiting, and employer branding efforts
  • Assist with drafting and posting job descriptions


  • Administers the offer letter and hiring processes by utilizing the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Docusign, and background vendor platforms to coordinate pre-employment screening and new hire document tracking.
  • Assists in the creation of new or revised job descriptions to ensure that they accurately reflect the duties being performed as positions evolve over time.
  • Compose weekly recruiting reports to include position openings, candidate activity, time to fill, offer status, and additional resources needed.
  • Develops and executes specific Talent Acquisition projects on an as needed basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Intermediate computer experience including Microsoft suite and Adobe.
  • Experience utilizing or administering Applicant Tracking Systems, third party background vendors, and DocuSign.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to multitask.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Consistent attendance and timeliness.
  • Respond timely and efficiently to recruiting inquiries



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Valid Drivers License and acceptable driving record required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 2 years minimum of comparable administrative experience required; preference given for HR/Recruiting administration experience.


Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:



  • Ability to stand for long periods of time along with walking, sitting, repetitive climbing stairs, reaching (including but not limited to above-shoulder reaching), repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. in accordance with Western States' Lifting Policy to include amount and approach.
  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies.
