Overview/ Job Responsibilities

The Technical Lead for the macOS Engineering & Operations Team is responsible for leading the technical direction, operational management, and delivery oversight of enterprise Jamf/macOS services and endpoint management capabilities. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with program management responsibilities to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable support for the enterprise MacBook solution.

The position serves as the primary lead coordinating engineering activities, operational priorities, customer engagement, project execution, and cross-team collaboration. The role requires strong expertise in operational leadership within a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

    Lead engineering and operational support for enterprise macOS and MacBook environments.
  • Oversee configuration, deployment, maintenance, and lifecycle management of Apple devices using Jamf Pro and related endpoint management tools.
  • Manage macOS security configurations, compliance enforcement, patching strategies, and device hardening activities.
  • Support integration and troubleshooting involving SSO, PIV/CAC authentication, certificate-based authentication, VPN, Wi-Fi, DNS, and enterprise security tools.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of complex endpoint, application, and infrastructure issues affecting macOS users.
  • Develop and maintain automation workflows, scripts, policies, and operational standards to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Lead testing, validation, and deployment activities for macOS updates, enterprise applications, and endpoint security changes.
  • Support Zero Trust, endpoint compliance, and enterprise security initiatives related to Apple device management.
  • Manage team priorities, workload coordination, operational metrics, and service delivery activities.
  • Lead daily standups, operational reviews, and coordination meetings with stakeholders and supporting teams.
  • Coordinate incident response, outage communications, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for macOS related issues.
  • Track risks, dependencies, action items, and project deliverables across engineering and operations activities.
  • Develop executive summaries, status reports, technical documentation, SOPs, and customer-facing communications.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity, networking, cloud, identity management, and infrastructure teams to support integrated enterprise services.
  • Ensure operational activities align with change management, security, and governance processes.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for macOS operational issues and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with federal leadership, stakeholders, vendors, and partner teams to support mission and operational objectives.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience leading technical teams or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or government IT environments.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and endpoint compliance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting SSO, identity management, certificate authentication, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Experience coordinating operational support, change management, and incident response activities.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and documentation skills.

*Must be eligible to obtain a Department of Homeland Security EOD clearance ( Requirements 1. US Citizenship, 2. Favorable Background Investigation) Proof of US Citizenship is a baseline requirement for this clearance.



Desired Qualifications

  • Experience administering macOS and Apple enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Jamf Pro, Apple Business Manager, and enterprise endpoint management solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Zscaler, and enterprise networking concepts.
  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud and enterprise collaboration environments.
  • ITIL, PMP, Agile, Jamf, Apple, or related certifications.
  • Experience supporting operational reporting, dashboards, and service metrics.

Clearance Preference:

  • DHS EOD - 1st priority
  • Any DHS badge + DoD Top Secret or Secret - 2nd choice
  • DoD Secret or Top Secret + willingness to get EOD clearance - 3rd choice (it can take 45 days to obtain EOD clearance - work can only begin once the clearance is fully adjudicated)
