What You'll Do:
- Participate and support site safety, health, and environmental programs
- Direct, plan, implement, promote and control site training programs with effective induction and recurrent training for all site positions/departments
- Balance and maintain a field presence with program creation to ensure training delivery and process adjustments are timely, relevant and evergreen
- Periodically audit major nested site contractor training and work processes to ensure they meet site requirements.
- Maintain an interface with management in all areas of employee training/education
- Monitor Augusta site training program and recommend to management where remedial action may be necessary to bring up to standards and ensure due diligence, while communicating to the management team where training programs/procedures can be improved or expanded to meet current and/or future needs
- Support and work with Human Resources in providing all employees with training/ information/contacts/resources concerning leadership and supervisory development, higher education, certifications, etc. to enhance individual competencies which will enable all employees to perform current and possible future job assignments at maximum potential
- Develop annual training goals and objectives for the Augusta site and present to the management team for discussion, feedback, and approval
- Routine Communication and Collaboration with all departments at the site to ensure transfer of knowledge and training effectiveness thereby actively supporting employee progression through personal and professional development in ling with departmental goals
- Monitor (as necessary) outside trainers/vendors/consultants to ensure that training is conducted in an efficient, effective, legal, and professional manner.
- Provide day-to-day direction and oversight to the training personnel to fulfill identified training objectives.
- Verify and assure achievement of government regulations and corporate policy and guidelines for instructor/employee certifications and other company objectives.
- Manage and ensure current and accurate records retention is being captured through the existing Learning Management System (LMS), and that the current LMS is being utilized at full potential. Compile, analyze and report to site on compliance with recurrent training.
- Maintain a training matrix for all positions at the site (including safety, required, regulatory, skill and competency requirements).
- Develop and implement methods to measure knowledge retention, including assessments, hands-on demonstrations, and post-training evaluations
- Manage budgeting and forecasting processes ensuring it is nibble while strategically leveraging available training funds to support enhanced site objectives.
What You'll Bring:
- A Bachelor's Degree supplemented by a certificate in Adult learning and/or Facilitation Certifications.
- At least 6-8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the Chemical Industry or similar industry with a minimum of 3-5 years of teaching/training experience
- Significant training and adult education experience supplemented by appropriate professional development may be considered as equivalent.
- Knowledgeable of government and regulations with ability to extract pertinent information from resource materials and incorporate into training design.
- Knowledge of training standards/requirements for industry including, but not limited to OSHA, DOT, ASME, EPA, PSM, etc.
- Knowledge of adult learning and instructional design.
- Ability to assess the overall training program and make recommendations to management for improvement.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational and planning skills, facilitation skills and computer literacy.
