The Prevention, Education and Outreach Coordinator facilitates, coordinates, implements, develops and evaluates prevention and community based outreach programs at Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO). The Coordinator provides moderate to complex programming coordination, including coordinating with the relevant community partners. The Coordinator may be required to provide training to external and internal partners and assist with the development of programming designs.
Specifically, the Prevention Education and Outreach Coordinator will have three significant areas of influence. The first will be advising food procurement practices adhering to sound nutrition science for the Healthy Roots Food Clinic. Second, the PEOC will develop condition specific nutrition education sequences for visitors to the Healthy Roots Food Clinic. These education sequences will follow the established visit protocol. Lastly, the PEOC will participate in the daily operations of the Healthy Roots Food Clinic.

- Coordinates moderate to complex program specific outreach and events and maintains program branding materials including brochures and websites.
- Selects approaches for disseminating public health data and information.
- Describes the diversity of individuals and populations in a community; addresses the diversity of individuals and populations is addressed in policies, programs, and services that affect the health of a community.
- Serves as liaison between program, department, CHCO and community partners. Establishes relationships to improve health in the community.
- Supports development and implementation of population health programs and policies based on community benefit strategic plan, including activities designed to improve health, safety and family education or empowerment.
- Assists with the development of prevention, education, and outreach programming; and delivers and provides training or outreach to internal and external partners.
- Provides information for funding proposals; operates programs within budget.
- Participates in local, state, regional and national efforts related to issues identified by the CHCO community needs assessment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION - High School Diploma.
EXPERIENCE - Four years of experience coordinating and implementing prevention and education initiatives that help address social determinants of health.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -Bachelor's degree in community health, public health, health education, or a related field, with an emphasis or coursework in nutrition. Spanish speaker.
EQUIVALENCY - A degree may substitute for work experience on a year for year basis.
Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $61,473.39 to $92,210.08
