THE POSITION

As a Social Services Aide 1, you will help strengthen families and support children in meaningful ways. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role supports caseworkers and helps families build safe and stable home environments. The position involves direct work with children, families, and staff across various settings. As a Social Services Aide 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Casework Support: Assist caseworkers with managing caseload and documenting information in the case management system
  • Family Assistance: Provide guidance to families on daily living tasks such as home care, hygiene, nutrition, and parenting skills
  • Visit Supervision: Oversee family visitations and support children during supervised interactions
  • Transportation Help: Transport consumers to supervised visits and required appointments when needed
  • Interview and Court Duties: Attend CAC interviews, participate in meetings, prepare written reports, and testify in court if required
  • Clerical Tasks: Perform office duties including completing forms and organizing case related materials

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • May require work after hours
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
