Human Resource Adminstrator

Job Purpose:

This role provides administrative support to the human resources function in the areas of HRIS/compensation/benefits, staffing/employment, employee relations, and/or organizational development (OD).

Nature of Duties:



  • Inputs employee personal data into human resources information system (HRIS).
  • Processes various forms related to documenting human resources activities such as new hire, change of status, performance evaluations, etc.
  • Conducts new hire orientations.
  • Prepares reports using HRIS based on headcount, recruitment, attrition, and other metrics.
  • Serves as a resource for employees on questions, issues, and matters related to their employment.
  • Coordinates the onboarding process, including processing background checks, assembling new hire packages, conducting reference checks, and completing new hire orientation.
  • Manages job posting process and routes hiring requisitions for approval.
  • Manages information tracking for various HR-related projected.
  • Works with agency partners to facilitate staffing.


  • Ensures that HR services are provided as appropriate to internal client needs, identifies new opportunities where HR can add value, and maintains leading-edge knowledge of HR issues.
  • Applies employee relations and employment practices in order to create a positive, ethical, effective work environment.
  • Respects employee confidentiality and handles sensitive matters with tact and discretion.



Education and Experience:



  • Previous administrative experience a significant asset.
  • Previous experience in human resources or related fields is an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective listening and communication skills.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Personable individual who is able to build professional relationships across the organization, enabling a high degree of teamwork.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Aptitude for coordination and organizational activities.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
