The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOC) is looking for an Accountant I (Accounts Payable) to support our Corporate Operations in our Orlando, Florida office.

Under supervision of the AP Accounting Manager, the AP Accountant I supports daily AP operations within a government contracting environment. This role involves routine invoice processing, document validation and account maintenance activities in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine data entry associated with accounts payable transactions
  • Review, code and process vendor invoice accurately
  • Research and reconcile basic invoice discrepancies
  • Maintain vendor accounts in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Process and reconcile company credit card transactions, ensuring proper cost allocation and complete documentation
  • Monitor and manage AP shared invoices email box; organize and maintain documents in SharePoint
  • Collaborate with other team members on routine departmental activities and month-end tasks as needed

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar field.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and AP processes
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment
  • Dependable collaborative team member with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Excel, SharePoint and general business software applications

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint Accounting System
  • Experience or exposure to government contracting accounting environments (FAR/DCAA)

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
