Application Developer - Conversational AI & Voice Systems FullStack \| Cloud \| RealTime Systems About the Role We're hiring a Application Developer to join a fastgrowing Communication Platforms organization building nextgeneration conversational and telephony experiences used by customers at scale. This team owns missioncritical systems across voice, SMS, virtual agents, and contactcenter integrations, and plays a direct role in shaping how customers interact with the business. You'll join a small, highimpact Natural Language & Automation (NLA) team-a tightknit group where each engineer has meaningful ownership. In this role, you'll help design and build realtime, AIdriven conversational systems that stream live voice, understand caller intent, intelligently route interactions, and seamlessly blend human and virtual agents. This is a true fullstack role with deep exposure to telephony, conversational AI, cloud infrastructure, and handson DevOps. Prior telephony experience is a plus, but not required-strong engineering fundamentals, curiosity, and the ability to learn complex realtime systems are highly valued. What You'll Do * Design, build, and maintain highavailability, enterprisegrade applications supporting realtime voice and conversational AI use cases * Develop AIpowered virtual agents that: * Understand why a customer is calling * Determine call disposition (routing, callbacks, human handoff) * Operate with low latency for natural, humanlike interactions * Stream and process live voice data in responsive, resilient, and scalable systems * Build internal tools for prompting strategies, call analytics, workflows, and orchestration * Collaborate closely with product, analytics, and engineering partners * Work across telephony services, contactcenter platforms, SMS, and conversational workflows * Own services endtoend, including: * System design and architecture * Development and testing * Deployment, monitoring, and production support * Operate in a teamowned DevOps environment, including AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) * Troubleshoot and resolve highimpact production issues with confidence and clarity * Contribute to a culture that values ownership, collaboration, and high technical standards What We're Looking For Core Qualifications * Fullstack engineering experience with strong system design instincts * Handson backend development using Golang and/or Python * Experience with distributed, realtime, eventdriven, or lowlatency systems * Strong experience with AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) and comfort owning DevOps responsibilities * Proven ability to build, support, and troubleshoot productiongrade systems * Curiosity, resilience, and enthusiasm for learning complex domains such as telephony and conversational AI FrontEnd & Platform Experience * Modern web development with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React * API design and backend services development * Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB or similar) * CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloudnative development practices Nice to Have (Strong Plus) * Experience with VoIP / telephony systems * FreeSWITCH development experience * Eventdriven architectures and streaming systems * Linux systems experience * Infrastructure as Code (Chef, AWS CDK, Troposphere) * OAuth2 / authentication & authorization flows * CRM integrations * Exposure to conversational AI, prompting strategies, or realtime AI systems * Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments Why This Role * Join a small, highownership team where your work directly shapes customer experience * Build cuttingedge conversational AI and voice systems developed inhouse * Make a real impact by reducing phone friction and creating more natural, human interactions * Strong opportunity for longterm growth and conversion to permanent employment * Collaborative engineering culture with exposure across multiple initiatives Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agoura Hills, CA.
