Nationality Requirements

Position Summary

Project Engineers ensure mission success by delivering technically sound, executable solutions across development and production programs. They enable confident program capture and execution by owning the technical foundation of proposals-defining clear scopes, building structured WBS frameworks, and producing credible cost estimates with defensible bases. In execution, they lead engineering efforts and work packages to meet mission requirements, driving alignment, managing resources, and ensuring delivery within cost, schedule, and quality constraints.

Job Description

Typical duties of a professional at this grade:

  • Develops solutions and solves complex problems to deliver engineering projects on-time, on-quality, and on-budget directly impacting positive project outcomes for a variety of circumstances

  • Writes reports and presents work carried out at peer and design reviews

  • Develops processes for team and influences decisions by providing technical advice to team(s)

  • Plans, authorizes, and monitors the engineering work (including providing strong leadership to ensure all events occur as planned)

  • Oversees performance, cost, scope and schedule for all engineering efforts (including efforts that are subcontracted)

  • Develops and maintains engineering plans as required by the project

  • Identifies, develops, analyzes, and reports engineering project performance measures

  • Conducts monthly engineering status reviews and provides material for the monthly program reviews

  • Accountable for the technical content of bid and proposal activities including Proposal Technical Volume content, WBS structure and dictionary, as well as cost estimation and basis of estimates

  • Remains current on trends and emerging technologies and tools

  • May estimate engineering packages of work to identify dependencies and ensure successful execution upon contract award.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineer or related field

  • 9+years of experience in a complex engineering environment

  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Security Clearance. (Note: Security clearances are granted to US Citizens)

  • Technical leadership experiencewith 5-10 member teams

  • Must possess excellent oral presentations skills

  • Able to manage and maintain the engineering team's focus on budget, schedule, and technical execution

  • Good communication skills, writing skills, and teamwork skills are required

  • Available to travel 10%-20%

  • Proficient in the use of collaboration tools to support the distributed nature of the work

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Demonstrated planning and organization skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of tools and Microsoft Project

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate issues, impacts, and corrective actions

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM)

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent with nine years' experience

  • DoD Secret or higher security clearance

  • Experience with DoD production program execution
