Salary Range: $60,000 - $67,000

Position Summary:
The Associate Scientist works in the Gan Lab on ongoing projects focusing on transcriptional condensates and their roles in regulating cardiovascular cell lineage specification and cell fate transition during development and disease. Other projects utilize discovery-based approaches to identify novel RNA binding proteins in cardiovascular development and diseases. The lab employs numerous techniques from molecular cloning and in vitro cell work to the generation of mutant mice and surgical models of disease. The lab possesses state-of-the-art equipment and is housed in a new, open-lab designed research building.

Job Details:
* This is a grant funded position

Required Education and Experience:
* Ph.D In Molecular and Cell biology or related field and 4 years of Postdoctoral experience.

Required Skills and Abilities:
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
* Experience with induced pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation, quantitative confocal microscopy, proteomics, molecular biology skills (such as molecular cloning, ChIP-seq, DNA FISH, and RNA FISH), recombinant viral tools (such as lentivirus, retrovirus, and adenovirus).
* Must be a self-motivated, team-oriented individual with strong scientific rigor.

Essential Duties:
* Organizing and implementing complex research projects
* Development of new methods, testing and data collection, analysis and interpretation of data
* Writing detailed scientific reports
* Mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
