Overview This position provides administrative support to the Construction Business Services Permit Applications team in East View. The Permit Applications team supports the companys permitting needs in Westchester. The successful candidate will interact frequently with internal and external customers, including various Westchester Municipalities, the NY State Department of Transportation (DOT), and other agencies. Core Responsibilities
- Duties include but not limited to, logging and tracking information on various computer applications, preparing contractor work packages, filing, ordering street opening permits from the various Westchester Municipalities, New York State Department of Transportation, and other applicable agencies.
- Decipher basic information provided on construction drawings issued from various Engineering organizations.
- Communicate timely with internal and external customers to clarify work scope, resolve inquiries, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Utilize Company computer applications including CWorX, Maximo ROPES, Adept, eGIS, Electronic Package System, and Electric Work Management System.
- Sit/stand at a stationary post for long periods and travel to various work locations as needed.
- Due to typing requirements, the candidate must have excellent manual dexterity.
- The candidate must be detail oriented, neat, and effective at meeting deadlines.
- The selected candidate must be able to push/lift up to 25 pounds (boxes of paper, etc.) as well as stoop, bend, reach, and kneel in order to file documents.
- Must comply with the companys safety, health, and environmental programs.

Required Education/Experience
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to interpret basic information on drawings.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to build strong customer relationships
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to influence internal and/or external constituents
Licenses and Certifications
- Driver's License Required
Physical Demands
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds
- Sit or stand to answer a phone for the duration of the workday
- Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
- Possess manual dexterity and the ability to use hands for the duration of the workday
- Ability to stoop, bend, reach, and kneel throughout the workday
- Ability to read small print and symbols
Additional Physical Demands
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- All applicants must pass all required placement exams.
