Overview

The Manager of Volunteer Services is responsible for oversight, coordination and engagement of volunteers serving the regions of Carle BroMenn
Medical Center, Carle BroMenn Outpatient Center, Carle McLean County Orthopedics, Carle Cancer Institute- Normal, and the Carle BroMenn Resale Boutique. The Manager works with key stakeholders within Carle Health and the communities served by Carle BroMenn to meet various needs through volunteer resources, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. The Manager serves as the primary liaison to the Carle BroMenn Medical Center Service Auxiliary Board and assists with setting strategic direction for the Board. The position provides managerial oversight to the Supervisor of the Carle BroMenn Resale Boutique and ensures the boutique fulfills its philanthropic mission through its operations.

Responsibilities

Serves a key leader in the Auxiliary/Volunteer Services division for Carle Health. Collaborates with the Director of Auxiliary/Volunteer Services and peers within the AVS leadership team to ensure volunteer programs are in compliance with accreditation, compliance and regulatory standards, as well as alignment with industry best practices. May lead and/or participate in division-wide quality initiatives and/or represent the division on Carle Health committees that align with our purpose.
Manages Volunteer Services [adult/student/junior programs] for regions served by Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Carle BroMenn Outpatient Center, Carle McLean County Orthopedics, Carle Cancer Institute - Normal, and the Carle BroMenn Resale Boutique. Includes recruitment, onboarding, placement, orientation/training, annual competency/education and retention activities.
Oversees entry, maintenance and accuracy of volunteer database/service records for Central Region volunteers.
Engages with key stakeholders to assess needs for volunteers and establishes roles/programs to meet identified needs, including related position descriptions and key competencies, mentoring lead volunteers and scheduling volunteers. Follows up through rounding and regular touchpoints with leaders in departments where volunteers serve.
Actively seeks ways to improve and support the Carle Experience through volunteer engagement.
Oversees activities of the Carle BroMenn Resale Boutique Supervisor and has general management oversight of resale boutique operations. Ensures the boutique is fulfilling its mission and has appropriate policies, procedures and fiscal controls in place. Collaborates in planning special events to drive sales.
Highly engaged in establishing and executing strategies and tactics for Volunteer Services and resale boutique operations in the Central Region.
Serves as primary liaison to the Carle BroMenn Service Auxiliary Board and related committees. Assists the board in setting strategic direction that aligns with organizational strategic goals.
Leads engagement activities for volunteers and team members in the Carle BroMenn service region. Keeps volunteers and team members informed and included through established communication channels. Regularly rounds with volunteers and team members to glean representative and inclusive feedback. Follows up on engagement survey results and action planning for the Carle BroMenn region.
Plans and executes various special events and recognition/retention activities throughout the year for the purpose of honoring volunteers and their value to the organization.
Participates in the budget process and has general fiscal oversight of Carle BroMenn Volunteer Services, Service Auxiliary, and Carle BroMenn Resale Boutique budgets.
Coordinates non-clinical internship and VTAP opportunities for Carle BroMenn Medical Center.
Collaborates with community volunteers and organizations to address various needs.
Participates in various civic groups/organizations and engages in public speaking opportunities and/or volunteer fairs to promote volunteer programs at Carle BroMenn Medical Center and community support of the Carle BroMenn Resale Boutique through donations and customer loyalty.
Collaborates with the Carle Center for Philanthropy on special events as appropriate.
Strategic Direction and Management Maintains volunteer quality results by following and enforcing patient service standards. Sets leadership standard for the service provided via personal behavior. Manage recognition and retention of volunteers

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $28.7per hour - $47.93per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
