Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Senior Consultant, Leadership Development is responsible for the development, implementation and support of strategies and initiatives related to the development of PCG field leaders.

This position is responsible for development and coaching of PCG field leaders. This includes certain ongoing developmental coaching, scenario planning, and targeted events. This position will collaborate across the organization and with various departments and leadership teams to ensure training and development efforts are properly focused and targeted to aid our field leaders in achieving their goals. This position will collaborate with USWM and Enterprise learning leaders to ensure consistent messaging and strategy across audiences, as appropriate, and to maximize use of resources and thought leadership.

What will you do?

Field leadership coaching and development - approximate time 50%

  • Develop, maintain and execute on a strategy for complex director, complex assistant manager, branch network director, and branch director coaching and development.
  • Collaborate with PCG leadership, HR, and the training team to ensure new field leaders are properly trained and oriented to their leadership roles whether they are new to RBC, new to the role, or both.
  • Discern areas of challenge for new field leaders and provide coaching to improve.
  • Develop and deliver programs for group learning opportunities, as appropriate, for new leaders and those experienced and established in their roles.
  • Provide coaching to existing field leaders as requested, or as appropriate.
  • Develop content and resources to support field leaders in partnership with the design team.

Strategy and specialty programs - approximate time 40%

  • Develop and execute a multi-year leadership development strategy for field leaders.
  • Collaborate with various groups such as PCG leadership, compliance, training, and various product areas to ensure the appropriate curriculum is being delivered.
  • Ensure firm-level strategic initiatives are properly represented in field training programs.
  • Oversee development and delivery of specialized group training programs for leaders (e.g., Branch Leadership Vantage; Strategic Recruiting Mastery workshops).
  • Plan/host/facilitate strategic planning meetings, DISC debriefs, roles and responsibility discussions with complex management teams on an as needed basis.
  • Share observations with PCG Senior Leadership and HR partners to help identify high-potential leaders for succession planning purposes.

Collaborate with and support leadership programs across USWM and Enterprise - approximate time 5%

  • Collaborate with HR and other business leaders on programs that provide leadership development across the organization (e.g., LeapPathways) to ensure we are providing consistent messaging and maximizing the content and resources available from each group.
  • Leverage innovative methodologies for delivering training initiatives including virtual and digital capabilities.

Contribute team expertise to the field, department and firm - approximate time 5%

  • Work closely with other members of the team to share best practices and discuss challenges and solutions.
  • Contribute to the use of metrics, benchmarks, and regular reporting as necessary.
  • Represent the team in selected corporate initiatives.
  • Contribute to regular department meetings and departmental improvement projects.
  • Other special assignments as needed.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Five or more years financial services or investment industry experience
  • Ability to influence
  • Excellent collaboration skills
  • Strong knowledge of and aptitude in concepts related to leadership (e.g., emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, change management), practice management, training and development
  • Exceptional written and communication skills including proven facilitation and presentation skills, ability to actively listen and discern meaning underlying both verbal and non-verbal communications, and ability to inspire, persuade and hold others accountable
  • Proven dedication to and focus on client service and satisfaction
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with tight deadlines and competing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with and influence many levels within an organization
  • Ability to assess data related to success metrics
  • Dedicated team player, willing to collaborate where necessary to make the team successful
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

The expected salary range for this particular position is $90,000-$160,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
