Position Overview

Join us in our support to the US Space Force (HQ USSF) Commercial Satellite Communication (COMSATCOM) Office (CSCO), where you will help shape the future of assured, resilient SATCOM for our warfighters and mission partners. As a key member of a highly collaborative, mission-focused team, you will apply your expertise to help deliver innovative commercial SATCOM capabilities, integrate a transformative COMSATCOM business model into the broader SATCOM enterprise, and translate complex operational needs into effective, affordable solutions. In this role, you will work directly with COMSATCOM customers and stakeholders, providing trusted guidance, insightful analysis, and clear recommendations that drive real-world impact in a rapidly evolving space domain. Job duties include:



Responsibilities

    Advise HQ USSF leadership and COMSATCOM stakeholders on acquisition strategies as commercial satellite communications markets, business models, and mission needs evolve.
  • Serve as the principal liaison between the HQ USSF contracting office and mission users to ensure acquisition requirements are fully captured and translated into actionable procurement planning.
  • Lead or support development of acquisition plans in accordance with FAR Subpart 7.1, including acquisition milestones, contract type considerations, source-selection approaches, and performance requirements
  • Coordinate with systems engineers and technical teams to confirm that technical requirements are achievable, supportable, and aligned to acquisition objectives
  • Assess procurement strategies for feasibility, schedule realism, regulatory compliance, and mission effectiveness in accordance with FAR and related guidance
  • Develop performance metrics and performance-based acquisition elements to support measurable contractor outcomes and stronger contractual accountability
  • Draft acquisition documentation and contractual modification support packages for Government Contracting Officer review and action.
  • Prepare clear, timely, and well-organized written communications, acquisition documents, briefings, and stakeholder correspondence
  • Communicate effectively with senior leaders, contracting officials, engineers, and external industry representatives across multiple organizational levels
  • Track procurement milestones, identify schedule risks, and help ensure acquisition actions remain on timeline through award and execution]
  • Support Government engagement with industry, including industry days, responses to questions, requests for clarification, and other pre-award communications


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Federal or Department of War acquisition supporting pre-award and/or post-award activities.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active Secret security clearance required. #qinetiqclearedjob
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FAR-based acquisition planning, including FAR Subpart 7.1 acquisition plan development and milestone coordination.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare acquisition documentation and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to support Government mission priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to support on-site client meetins with the National Capital Region


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting program or project management operations in a defense or national security environment
  • Knowledge of COMSATCOM provider business models, commercial SATCOM acquisition approaches, and related market considerations.
  • Experience with satellite systems and SATCOM requirements-based planning, service provisioning, or enterprise communications support.
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Relevant professional certification such as DAWIA certification, Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM), or equivalent acquisition-related credential
  • Active TS/SCI eligibility or clearance preferred.


Pay Transparency

The salary range for this role is $100,000- $150,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. QinetiQ US considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
