Position Summary

The Supply Chain Intern (Logistics & Planning) supports manufacturing operations by helping plan material flow and production needs while coordinating inbound/outbound logistics. This role analyzes data, tracks execution to plan, and supports improvements that enhance on-time delivery, lead time, and inventory performance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily/weekly production and material planning activities (MRP/ERP signals, order priorities, constraints).
  • Review demand changes, available inventory, and capacity considerations; help maintain feasible plans.
  • Track shortages, past-due supply, and expedite needs; coordinate actions with purchasing, production, and suppliers.
  • Support planning parameter maintenance (lead times, MOQ, safety stock, reorder points) with supervision
  • Support inbound shipment tracking (supplier shipments, ASN status, dock scheduling as applicable).
  • Assist with outbound shipment planning to meet customer requested ship dates and optimize freight mode selection.
  • Help coordinate with carriers/3PLs on pickups, delivery status, claims, and exceptions.
  • Maintain shipping documentation and ensure compliance with internal procedures (and export documentation if applicable
  • Identify recurring issues (late suppliers, bottlenecks, freight delays) and support root-cause and corrective actions.
  • Participate in Lean/Kaizen activities (process mapping, standard work, visual management) to improve planning and logistics workflows.
  • Support inventory accuracy initiatives (cycle counts, transaction audits) in coordination with operations.

Qualifications

Qualifications

- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field

- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups; basic data analysis)

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

- Effective written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across teams

- Ability to work on-site
