Medical Device Assembly & Test Technician
Madison, WI
Pay: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour

Job Summary
The Medical Device Assembly and Test Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting medical device assemblies, final products, and accessories in accordance with manufacturing documentation and established quality standards. This role ensures all work is completed in compliance with company quality systems, cGMP requirements, and applicable medical device regulations. The position requires strong attention to detail, technical aptitude in electronics, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a regulated production environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Assemble, test, and repair medical device components, assemblies, and finished products according to work instructions and SOPs
  • Perform assembly diagnosis, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs as needed
  • Conduct equipment setup, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting under supervision
  • Ensure all work complies with quality system requirements and regulatory standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including device history records and production logs
  • Identify and report quality concerns to supervisors, team leads, and quality personnel
  • Support updates and revisions to SOPs, work instructions, and quality documentation
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and compliant workspace
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, materials, and facilities teams to resolve issues
  • Assist in training and supporting other production assemblers as needed
  • Follow EHS, safety, and quality procedures at all times
  • Complete required training in a timely manner


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related scientific field preferred

    • OR Associate's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience
    • OR High School Diploma with 6+ years of relevant experience


  • Experience in medical device manufacturing or other regulated (cGMP) environment preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Basic electronics knowledge required
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong communication, adaptability, and dependability


Technical Skills



  • Electronics and device assembly/testing experience
  • Experience working with controlled documentation systems (preferred)
  • SAP experience (preferred)
  • Lean or Six Sigma knowledge (preferred)

Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related scientific field preferred

  • Prior experience in medical device manufacturing or regulated production environment preferred
  • Experience in assembly, testing, or troubleshooting electronic or mechanical devices required based on education level
