Our rapidly growing Chicago office is looking to add a Structural Bridge Project Manager to join our team. You will be involved with bridge projects for railways, highways, and other transportation related projects throughout Mid-Atlantic and South. Our team supports some of the most ambitious transportation and infrastructure projects in North America.

Responsibilities:



  • Design and develop engineering plans and drawings, including preliminary layouts and final construction documents
  • Supervise or provide structural assessments including condition evaluation, load capacity, service life, rehabilitation and functional needs, life cycle costing, and renewal options analysis
  • Plan and oversee the production of engineering drawings, specifications, investigations, and planning work
  • Lead junior professionals and technical staff in the design and drafting of preliminary and final bridge plans
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project execution aligns with scope, budget, and schedule from concept through final design
  • Assist in the development of project scopes, cost and manpower estimates, schedules, and budgets
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, supporting their professional growth and development
  • Apply a quality management system for structural engineering design projects including quality control and assurance procedures, checks, and independent reviews at different phases of designs



We're looking for someone to embody these ethos and welcome applications from bridge engineer candidates with the following experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering. Master's degree preferred
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in structural bridge design and inspection
  • Illinois SE license is required or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months
  • Illinois PE license is preferred
  • Illinois NBIS Team Leader certification preferred
  • Experience with Illinois Department of Transportation standards and project procedures preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in developing and interpreting highway engineering policies, practices, procedures, standards, and regulations
  • Experienced with construction specs and erection plans and requirements for large structural elements
  • Familiarity with Bentley products, and bridge design software such as LARSA, SAP 2000, STAAD Pro, OpenBridge, CsiBridge, AASHTOWARE Bridge Rating, and MDX
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to participate in local professional societies

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.

The expected salary for this position is $119,000 - $140,000
