*Preferred Internal Candidate Identified* An exciting opportunity exists for a Payroll Supervisor to support the Global Process Owner while providing direct supervision and leadership of payroll staff, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing across all business units. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, improving processes, and maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of the HRIS/Payroll systems. Core Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision
* Supervise, coach, and develop payroll specialists team; provide ongoing performance feedback and conduct performance evaluations
* Assign and prioritize workload to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
* Serve as escalation point for complex payroll issues and employee concerns
* Lead training initiatives and support onboarding of new payroll team members
* Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment
Payroll Operations & Compliance
* Oversee and participate in processing and reconciliation of multi-state U.S. payrolls for locations on various payroll cycles
* Review payroll transactions including relocations, bonuses, and other fringe benefits
* Ensure accurate processing of direct deposits, tax withholdings (federal, state, local, and social security), and payroll adjustments
* Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable wage and tax laws and regulations
* Oversee processing of legally required deductions, including wage garnishments and court-ordered payments
Audit, Reporting & Process Improvement
* Lead payroll audits and ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll data; respond to internal and external audit inquiries
* Review tax filings, quarterly wage and tax reconciliations, and review and approve annual W2 filings
* Partner with Finance on monthly reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis
* Develop, review, and maintain standard and ad hoc payroll reports and analytics
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead implementation of best practices and automation initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Partner with HR, Finance, and Treasury to ensure seamless payroll operations
* Oversee funding processes and 401(k) contributions
* Ensure timely and accurate responses to employee inquiries, verification of employment, and unemployment claims
* Coordinate with third-party vendors for ACH processing, check printing, and tax filing
Qualifications
* 7+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience, with prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
* Strong proficiency in Excel and ability to learn and implement new systems
* Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
* Deep knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
* High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
* UKG experience strongly preferred
Education Requirements
* Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
