Asphalt Crew Leader

Allan Myers is looking for an experienced Paving/Milling Crew Leader to join our elite team. The Paving/Milling Crew Leader is responsible for assisting the Foreman in managing the performance of the crew, including themselves and additional laborers, to perform all duties and tasks assigned on the paving/milling project safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Ensure that the laborers report for work on time and in compliance with all policies regarding appearance and being "fit for work."
• Procure all necessary materials and equipment.
• Drive the company vehicle and trailer to job site.
• Ensure that the work environment is safe for all employees.
• Determine which employees will perform which task while on the jobsite.
• Ensure that their laborers' production is at a sufficient level and maintaining documents for the purpose of recommending promotions, etc.
• Document the safety status and overall fitness of all machinery and company equipment under their supervision.
• Lead team safety meetings for their crew.
• Maintain efficient and clear communication with paving/milling Superintendent and paving/milling operations team.
• Forward members' concerns/complaints to Human Resources.

• 5 years of experience as a Leadman in a similar environment.
• Demonstrates technical proficiency in paving/milling processes, functions, and environment.
• Experience in heavy/civil construction industry preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must possess working knowledge of heavy equipment, hand-held equipment, and general commercial concrete construction.
• Ability to frequently lift heavy objects over 60lbs.
• Must possess knowledge of safety practices within a construction environment and be able to apply and teach those practices.
