POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Shields Point, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Security Specialist to provide direct personnel security support to the FBI Operational Technology Division (OTD), specifically the Data Intercept Technology Unit (DITU) and other OTD units. This is a Key Personnel role on a high-visibility FBI contract focused on processing and managing security clearances for private-sector partners and contractors.


Location: Quantico, VA (primary) with occasional support to Stafford, Fredericksburg, and Newington, VA


This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.



  • Manage end-to-end personnel security processes for private-sector employees nominated for FBI clearances.
  • Initiate, track, and monitor background investigations using NBIS, FBI BEAST, Phoenix, and related systems.
  • Conduct security briefings and debriefings.
  • Respond to Security Division inquiries regarding background investigations and continuous vetting alerts.
  • Maintain detailed case records, clearance status databases, and provide regular statistics and updates to Technical POCs.
  • Coordinate with FBI Field Offices and Headquarters for fingerprints and clearance matters.
  • Conduct or coordinate Security Awareness Briefings (SAB) and upload documentation to Phoenix/Sentinel
  • Assist with Personal Electronic Devices (PEDS) registration and prepare Electronic Communications (ECs) in Sentinel.
  • Provide backup support as an Access Control Specialist when needed.
  • Perform all duties with exceptional professionalism and customer-service focus.


Payrate:$36.06 to $43.27 Hourly

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Qualifications:



  • Active Top-Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI special access (required at time of hire).
  • Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a security-related field (industrial security, physical security, computer/network security, or similar).
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel (complex spreadsheets), PowerPoint (briefings), Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to deliver clear briefings and comprehensive written products.
  • Demonstrated experience with personnel security processes, background investigations, and customer interaction.
  • Professional demeanor and strong commitment to customer service.


Preferred Qualifications or Skills:



  • Prior FBI, DoD, or Intelligence Community security experience
  • Familiarity with Phoenix, Sentinel, NBIS, or similar FBI security systems
