The Opportunity

The College of Medicine (COM) invites applications for the position of associate professor or professor of medicine and Associate Dean for Students. This senior educational leadership role reports to the senior associate dean for undergraduate medical education (SADME) and is responsible for promoting a supportive, studentcentered learning environment that strengthens engagement, professional development, wellbeing, and academic success for students in the M.D. program.

The Associate Dean provides strategic leadership for programs and services supporting medical students across both the preclinical and clinical phases of the curriculum. This includes initiatives focused on academic success, career development and advising, student activities and organizations, student well-being, and student financial services.

The Associate Dean for Students serves as a key architect of the medical student experience within the College of Medicine, shaping a culture that supports learners academically, professionally, and personally. This leader plays a central role in cultivating an environment where medical students feel valued, empowered, and equipped to thrive throughout their medical education journey. The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs, academic support, student success, medical education, or related higher education roles, along with an understanding of the unique challenges facing medical students, outstanding communication and organizational skills, and strong management skills.
