General Manager

Horseshoe Bay Sporting Club - Horseshoe Bay, TX

About the Role

Horseshoe Bay Sporting Club, part of the Rhythm Outdoors network, is a private, member-focused shooting and hospitality club located in the Texas Hill Country.

We are seeking a hands-on, disciplined General Manager to lead daily operations, deliver a high-quality member experience, and uphold strong standards across service, safety, and facilities. This leadership role is highly visible and requires presence, judgment, and the ability to lead teams in a structured, high-expectation environment.

Candidates with military leadership experience-particularly U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Beret) or Ranger backgrounds at the E-7 (Sergeant First Class) level and above-are strongly encouraged to apply, as this experience translates well to the operational leadership and team management required in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management



  • Oversee daily operations, including opening/closing procedures and staff coordination
  • Manage scheduling, payroll preparation, and reporting processes
  • Maintain consistent execution of operational systems and workflows
  • Oversee inventory management (ammunition, retail, equipment)


Member Experience



  • Serve as the primary on-site leader and member-facing representative
  • Build strong relationships and maintain a high standard of service
  • Address member needs and ensure a consistent, high-quality experience


Events & Programming



  • Lead planning and execution of club events and private functions
  • Coordinate logistics, staffing, and post-event reviews


Facilities & Property Oversight



  • Ensure property cleanliness, safety, and readiness at all times
  • Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and vendor relationships
  • Proactively identify and resolve operational issues


Safety & Compliance



  • Enforce all safety protocols and range procedures
  • Promote a strong culture of safety and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and policies


Leadership & Team Development



  • Hire, train, and manage staff
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management
  • Foster a disciplined, team-oriented culture with clear accountability
  • Lead by example with professionalism and strong work ethic


Qualifications

Required



  • Experience leading teams and managing daily operations
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor, member-facing environment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to standards


Preferred



  • Military leadership experience (E-7 / Sergeant First Class or higher strongly preferred)
  • Background in U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Beret) or Ranger units highly valued
  • Experience in hospitality, private club, or outdoor recreation industries
  • Experience with shooting sports or range operations
  • Background in event management or high-touch customer service environments

Qualifications
Education
Bachelors of Business Administration (preferred)
Some college (preferred)
High School (required)
Experience
Experience in member-facing roles within hospitality, private clubs, resorts, or service-driven environments requiring high standards of service, relationship-building, and event or program management. (required)
Experience managing daily operations in environments such as outdoor facilities, training environments, logistics, or property management, including scheduling, maintenance coordination, inventory control, and process execution. (required)
Experience leading small teams in structured, high-accountability environments, including operational planning, personnel management, safety oversight, and mission execution. U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Beret), Ranger, or similar leadership experience highly valued. (required)
