Overview SCCI is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in support of the Weapons Control Support Services program! The successful candidate will be a key member of a high-performing DoD Weapons team. In this position you will collaborate closely with integrated product teams, including software, hardware, computing infrastructure, test, and operations engineers, to ensure a cohesive and fully integrated system design. This position is available for immediate hire and located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:
- Apply and execute systems engineering best practices for the definition, decomposition, design, and implementation of customer and end-user requirements
- Develop, manage, and deliver comprehensive software systems engineering, integration and testing documentation to support program execution and formal reviews
- Document system architecture designs, including the definition of component interfaces, while maintaining government-owned interface standards
- Define and document component and sub-component level specifications to guide development
- Collaborate closely with integrated product teams (IPTs), including software, hardware, computing infrastructure, test, and operations engineers, to ensure a cohesive and fully integrated system design
- Conduct continuous integration testing throughout the development cycle to identify and resolve issues early
- Document and manage System Trouble Reports (STRs) to track and resolve system anomalies
- Conduct data analysis from land-based test events, shipboard test events, and real-world events to assess FDS performance and document defects
- Assess operational performance criteria and provide input for improving system performance and proposing future system design changes and enhancements
- Review, understand, and ensure the implementation of policies, requirements, and guidance for the design, development, and certification of all FDS products
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active Secret Security Clearance
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, technical discipline or equivalent experience
- Five (5) years of specialized experience developing training plans for weapon systems for air or surface platforms
- Knowledge as a Systems Engineer in support of Naval programs to include Systems Engineering planning, requirements, technical interpretation, performance specifications, technical specifications, test planning, test execution, test reporting, and other systems engineering documentation
- Knowledge of the acquisition life cycle and Systems Engineering Product Development policies, methods, tools, and practices as applied to Naval Systems
- Knowledge in Naval combat system and weapon system development and integration
- Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies, and proficiency in tools like Cameo, MagicDraw, SysML, or UML
- Ability to work with limited oversight and to work across a cross-functional technical organization
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
