Job Summary:

Join the Colorado School of Public Health as an Outreach Coordinator (Communications Intermediate Professional). This position is a key member of the school's Centers for Health, Work & Environment (CHWE), whose mission is to advance the health, safety, and well-being of workers.

The Outreach Coordinator will work on amplifying our impact through communications, dissemination, marketing, events, partner engagement, and media. This position will be responsible for working with multiple project leads, including faculty and staff, to execute core marketing activities to engage a broad group of stakeholders and make sure our supporters receive the information they need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute marketing and communication strategies, including key messaging, email campaigns, newsletters, digital and traditional media outreach, content development, and new stories.

  • Develop dissemination materials (flyers, slide decks, posters, collateral) and other content through writing, production of graphics, and video production in collaboration with faculty and staff project leads.

  • Support marketing and outreach efforts for CHWE's core centers, programs, projects, and events, including coordination of media outreach efforts and external vendors and contractors.

  • Write and update website content, reports, email campaigns, and digital ads while collaborating with faculty, staff, students, and community partners; maintain and update multiple CHWE websites with support from communications staff.

  • Coordinate the production of CHWE publications, including annual reports and newsroom articles, and serve as the primary editor for external content.

  • Serve as the lead coordinator for all in-person events organized by CHWE, including local, regional, and national events, conferences, and meetings. Responsibilities include event planning timelines and coordination, speaker coordination, and day-of logistics.

  • Support project outreach and partner engagement efforts, including partner and community outreach activities.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position that reports to the Director of Outreach and Programs.

Hybrid -This position is located on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO and is expected to work on site three days per week. This position will be required to be in attendance for pre-planned in-person conferences and events (local, regional, and national).

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

  • A bachelor's in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, public health, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

  • One (1) year of experience in communications, marketing, or outreach including coordination of events or public-facing programs.

    • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

    • Substitution: An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in public health or related field

  • Demonstrated experience executing communications and marketing plans

  • Experience working in public health.

  • Demonstrated experience in creating content that has been purposed for press releases/press packets and managing relationships with reporters

  • Demonstrated experience in creating content for websites, visual graphics, and professional reports

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and strong attention to detail

Anticipated Salary Range:

The starting target salary for this position has been established as $55,000 - $64,000 per year.

The above salary represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
