Job Summary

The Specialist, Engineering Support position is a critical opportunity for accomplished, hands-on professionals seeking to advance within a rigorous technical environment. Under experienced supervision, this role's focus is to provide technical support and enhance manufacturing performance by resolving complex equipment issues, driving advanced automation initiatives, and optimizing long-term asset management. By applying expertise in mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering, the Specialist, Engineering Support role will deliver technical leadership, mentor cross-functional teams, and enact strategic improvements that reduce downtime, enhance safety standards, and support the enduring reliability of asset operations. This position is integral to advancing safety protocols, optimizing automation systems, reinforcing quality assurance, and ensuring sustainable operational excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for engineering systems, including system monitoring and executing control tasks.
  • Carries out routine tasks in support of product development, testing, or analysis, contributing to technical documentation and team deliverables.
  • Maintain and compile technical documentation to support compliance and specification requirements.
  • Execute structured engineering assignments, including basic electrical designs, schematics, or system layouts and fundamental analysis at the component and system element level.
  • Support testing activities, compile test data, and produce straightforward design and technical summaries.
  • Collaborate effectively with operators, electricians, engineers, and cross-functional peers.
  • Ensure adherence to project standards and operational requirements through accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Minimizing downtime, advancing safety protocols, optimizing automation systems, promoting quality assurance, and ensuring sustainable reliability throughout the facility.
  • Advanced troubleshooting in complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls systems.
  • Leading reliability initiatives, conducting RCAs, and implementing continuous improvement projects.
Required Education & Experience

High School Diploma

Specialized Degree: Trade school, technical training, or relevant certifications in industrial maintenance or reliability

5-7 Years of Experience

Field(s) of Expertise: industrial maintenance or reliability

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Vibration analysis, thermal imaging, motor testing, or lubrication
  • Advanced PLC programming or troubleshooting proficiency (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • CMMS/EAM systems
Preferred Education & Experience

Associate's degree

Specialized Degree:

  • Advanced PLC programming or troubleshooting proficiency (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)

8-11 Years of experience

Field(s) of Expertise:

  • Advanced PLC programming or troubleshooting proficiency (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
