About The Position The Corporate Counsel is responsible for a wide range of matters in the legal practice areas of state regulatory law for electric and natural gas utilities. This position provides legal advice and support to internal Ameren clients relating to the area of specialty.
Key responsibilities include:
Qualifications: Corporate Counsel Juris Doctorate Degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school required. Five or more years of experience in a law firm, corporate legal department or other comparable legal setting with experience in an area of specialty required. Licensed, eligible to practice or able to seek admission in Missouri and/or Illinois required. Proficient knowledge of legal primary practice area required. Qualifications: Senior Corporate Counsel Juris Doctorate Degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school required. Ten or more years of experience in a law firm, corporate legal department or other comparable legal setting with experience in an area of specialty required. Licensed and eligible to practice in Missouri and/or Illinois required. Advanced knowledge of legal primary practice area required. In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Strong knowledge and skills with legal software systems (i.e., LEXIS and/or Westlaw) required. Proficiency with general computer skills. Additional Information Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates. Compensation Range: $134,700.00 - $250,500.00* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials. At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
