We are looking for an entrepreneurial, operationally focused and results-driven Director of Finance to join our Finance team in Denver. Reporting to both the VP of Finance for Strategic Business Initiatives and the VP/General Manager of DaVita Clinical Research (DCR), the Director of Finance will oversee the financial strategy, planning and analysis for the Clinical Research division of DaVita's Integrated Kidney Care segment.

The Director of Finance role will be an integral part of the DCR leadership team and have broad exposure to DCR operations and strategy. A successful candidate will partner with the business operators to ensure accountability, develop KPI's and own the budget/planning process.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and manage comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for the DCR organization
  • Clinical Trial Financial Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end financial lifecycle of trials, including study budget development, revenue recognition, expenses, invoicing and accounts receivables.
  • Budgeting & Variance Analysis: Establish mechanisms to improve visibility into study financial performance, including tracking budget performance versus actual spending and providing actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee the financial aspects of contracts with third parties including laboratories, and other service providers
  • Compliance & Audit Readiness: Ensure adherence to GAAP, internal financial policies, and regulatory expectations. Coordinate internal and external financial audits as needed.
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Strategic Advisory: Provide financial leadership for portfolio decision-making, scenario planning, and long-range clinical resource planning.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 year's related finance experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related area required
  • Previous clinical research experience preferred
  • Team player with a great attitude who has fun at work
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, and reporting
  • Demonstrated success in effectively communicating and presenting information to executives
  • Experience and success working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Skills:

  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required; experience with Hyperion Essbase and Anaplan preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and growing business
  • Strong qualitative, quantitative and problem solving skills
  • Must have keen attention to detail
  • Willing to take the initiative, be creative and "think outside the box"
  • Professional presence and excellent presentation skills
  • Approachable and open

The Salary Range for the role is $115,000.00 - $183,000.00/year. If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position. New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $66,300.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $66,300.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $62,353.20/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $17.00/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $17.00/hour, Remainder of New York state: $16.00/hour Washington Exempt: $80,168.40/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $19.13/hour, Burien: $21.63/hour, Everette: $20.77/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.82/hour, Renton: $21.57/hour, Seattle: $21.30/hour, Tukwila: $21.65/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $17.13/hour
