This hands-on role will require problem-solving skills. The following duties are considered essential functions of this role. Additional duties may be assigned. You will be a member of the Component R&D team where you will:
- Own the management, maintenance, and calibration of bespoke electrical test equipment.
- Set up and perform electrical tests according to provided test plans.
- Set up and perform mechanical tests according to provided test plans.
- Generate written reports of evaluation, test results, failure modes and root cause in an accurate, concise manner, drawing sound conclusions and observations. Record information in software systems as required.
- Set up and operate lab equipment, test apparatus, and contribute to the organization and layout of the lab to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret certification agency standards.
- Utilize, maintain, modernize, and develop new equipment and fixtures to conduct evaluation and testing for current and new products.
- Support and participate in new product development activities, e.g., Conceptional Design reviews, DFMEA and PFMEA Reviews. Evaluate and test electronic and electrical prototype systems, conduct FAIs, and support Value Engineering projects.
- Support/maintain the control, calibration and inspection of test and measurement equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical testing equipment.
- Adhere to health and safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks and prioritize per team requirements.
- Proven understanding of soldering/electronics/electrical.
- May be required to perform additional duties as assigned, consistent with business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Electrical or Electronics Technician Certificate, or Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent experience. AA Electronics diploma preferred.
- Two years' hands-on experience with electronic and electrical testing, diagnostics, completing RMA or failure evaluation and reporting, working in an industrial manufacturing company or in a test lab environment.
- Technical report writing experience, accurate, concise, and easy-to-understand.
- Skills in identifying the root causes of problems and the ability to develop and communicate recommendations for their resolution.
- Skills to quickly and constantly learn, to evaluate and test a variety of products and operate a wide variety of diagnostic, test and measurement equipment.
- Ability to utilize good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface with people across multiple functional areas within the company.
- Ability to independently work, effectively organize, plan workload and work in a self-directed manner
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Experience with documentation and workflow software preferred
- Industrial & commercial lab environment
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, disassembly, and use of cutting tools, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Some interaction with dust
- This role involves a significant amount of time spent in seated, standing, or moving positions throughout the workday. You will need to remain in a stationary posture for extended periods, depending on the specific tasks, and will also move to access equipment or navigate between work areas as required.

Pay Transparency
Chemelex's pay scale is based on the expected range of compensation for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range: $50,000 - $73,000 ($24 - $35/hour)
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
