POSITION SUMMARY: The Electrician is responsible for performing electrical and instrumentation inspections, maintenance, repairs, and rebuilds on plant operating equipment to support safe, reliable, and continuous operations in compliance with established quality standards. This role is critical to improving plant Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and equipment availability by preventing unplanned outages and minimizing extended downtime. The Electrician is expected to maintain technical proficiency and adapt to evolving plant standards through participation in companysponsored training and certification programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild electrical and instrumentation systems on plant operating equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Diagnose electrical, control, and instrumentation issues and take timely corrective action to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Support plant reliability objectives by contributing to improvements in equipment availability and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities in accordance with established schedules, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Install, test, calibrate, and maintain electrical and instrumentation components, including sensors, motors, drives, control panels, and related systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC documentation, and equipment manuals to support maintenance and repair activities.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, company policies, and safety and quality standards.
  • Document work completed, equipment conditions, and corrective actions in maintenance management and reporting systems.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts to prevent recurring equipment failures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with housekeeping and safety expectations.
  • Actively participate in companysponsored training, certification, and skilldevelopment programs to maintain technical proficiency and meet evolving standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to support plant objectives.
  • Perform all duties in a safe, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality; work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, or be oncall as required.
  • Perform physically demanding work for extended periods, including standing, bending, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, sitting and reaching.
  • Access all areas of the plant, including climbing stairs and ladders, working at heights up to approximately 120 feet, entering confined spaces and accessing tunnels.
  • Work safely around high temperature kiln systems, moving equipment, conveyors, and mobile equipment.
  • Tolerate exposure to heat, cold, noise, vibration, dust, fumes, and lime/mineral particles.
  • Ability to see, hear, communicate, and maintain situational awareness in an industrial environment.
  • Occasionally lift or carry 50 pounds.
  • Pushing and pulling a maximum force of 50 lbF.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program, technical program, or equivalent experience in industrial background.

PREFFERED EDUCATION:

  • Associate's degree in industrial electrical technology.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years electrical experience.

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous heavy manufacturing and/or mining experience.
  • Prior experience working around kilns, conveyors, or heavy equipment.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office, SAP or similar systems).
