Overview

The US Oncology Network is looking for a Senior Director, IT Strategy and Delivery to join our team at Texas Oncology.

This is a remote role and requires the candidate to reside within Texas.

This role is remote, with flexibility for remote work; however, candidates must reside in the state of Texas. Regular collaboration with Texas Oncology leadership and teams based in the Irving / Dallas area is expected. Periodic inperson presence may be required for key planning sessions, executive reviews, clinical engagement, or major deployments. Limited travel within Texas may be required; occasional outofstate travel may occur based on business needs.

What does the Senior Director, IT Strategy and Delivery do?

The Senior Director, IT Strategy & Delivery is a senior enterprise technology leader accountable for endtoend technical strategy, architecture, and delivery execution supporting the Texas Oncology digital roadmap. This role owns technical outcomes, not just delivery mechanics-ensuring initiatives are architected correctly, integrated securely, implemented with rigor, and operationally sustainable at scale.

This leader serves as the single point of accountability for technical delivery across Texas Oncology, spanning application architecture, systems integration, infrastructure readiness, data interoperability, vendor execution, and deployment governance. The role requires deep technical judgment, decisive leadership, and the ability to translate complex clinical and operational needs into executable, highquality technology solutions.

Operating at an executive level, the Senior Director is a member of the Texas Oncology IT Leadership team, and will partner with clinical leadership, operations, and external vendors to ensure solutions are technically sound, clinically safe, and businessaligned, with clear ownership for risks, decisions, and outcomes.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:

Enterprise Technical Delivery Leadership

  • Own endtoend technical delivery for the Texas Oncology digital roadmap, including solution architecture, integration design, development oversight, testing strategy, deployment planning, and postgolive operational readiness.
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for technical delivery outcomes across all execution models. Owns accountability for final technical outcomes, quality, and business results independent of reporting lines
  • Establish and enforce enterprise technical standards, delivery governance models, and quality gates to ensure solutions meet performance, security, and reliability expectations.
  • Accountable for technical readiness for production, including system stability, scalability, availability, and supportability.
  • Partner with the Transformation Office and other Texas Oncology IT sub functions on a clear transition plan for projects to on going support by the relevant IT sub function
  • Drive proactive risk identification, mitigation, and executivelevel escalation across complex, multiworkstream initiatives.

Technology Strategy & Architecture Alignment

  • Partner with Texas Oncology Transformation Office to translate enterprise and clinical priorities into executable technical strategies and delivery roadmaps.
  • Own forwardlooking architecture and integration blueprints for core platforms, ensuring interoperability and longterm sustainability.
  • Balance nearterm delivery demands with longterm architectural integrity, technical debt management, and platform evolution.
  • Provide authoritative technical input into investment decisions, sequencing, and tradeoff discussions.

Vendor & Partner Accountability

  • Lead technical oversight of strategic vendors and delivery partners, ensuring architectural compliance, quality execution, and contractual accountability.
  • Establish and maintain objective vendor performance management, including scorecards, delivery metrics, and servicelevel adherence.
  • Drive vendor neutrality through capabilitybased evaluation, technical merit, and total cost of ownership considerations.

Executive Leadership, Governance & Communication

  • Lead and develop senior technical leaders and multidisciplinary delivery teams, fostering a culture of accountability, engineering rigor, and disciplined execution.
  • Communicate complex technical topics-risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and decisions-clearly to executive leadership, governance bodies, and clinical stakeholders.
  • Maintain delivery transparency through clear documentation, decision frameworks, and governance cadence.
  • Model and reinforce a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

Technical Requirements

This role requires deep, handson technical leadership experience, including:

  • Enterprise application architecture and systems integration across heterogeneous platforms
  • Interoperability frameworks and data exchange patterns (e.g., APIs, messaging, data pipelines)
  • Cloud and hybrid infrastructure concepts, including scalability, resiliency, and security controls
  • Production readiness disciplines, including performance testing, release management, and postdeployment support models
  • Technology risk management, including security, reliability, and compliance considerations
  • Oversight of complex, multivendor technical ecosystems

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the position will have the following background and experience:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise technology leadership, including senior accountability for largescale, complex initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience owning technical strategy, architecture, and delivery outcomes for missioncritical systems
  • Proven ability to lead crossfunctional and crossorganizational technical teams at scale
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and make decisions in highambiguity, highstakes environments
  • Experience operating in regulated environments with strong governance expectations
  • Bachelor's degree in technology, engineering, or a related field

Preferred Attributes

  • Healthcare technology experience, particularly in clinical systems, interoperability, or providerbased workflows
  • Experience partnering closely with physicians, clinical leaders, or care delivery operations
  • Advanced degree in technology, engineering, or business
  • Experience modernizing legacy platforms while supporting active clinical operations
  • Strong background in vendorled delivery models with multiple strategic partners
  • Experience leading projects and programs that leverage AI both as project tools and as part of the end point solution
