DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for monitoring and securing all buildings, grounds, fences, and vehicles through routine patrols and surveillance to ensure a safe and protected campus environment. Your duties include inspecting plant facilities, dispatching state vehicles, managing the distribution of keys and badges, and overseeing parking and traffic control. Additionally, you will support program operations by maintaining logs, assisting with searches, responding to cottage emergencies, and transporting youth to help maintain the safety and security of the grounds. You will also operate the switchboard and monitor radio communications to ensure the efficient functioning of the facility's communication center. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours will be determined through shift work in a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week operation, including weekends and holidays. Shifts are 8 hours and consist of 1st shift (6:30 AM to 2:30 PM), 2nd shift (2:30 PM to 10:30 PM), and 3rd shift (10:30 PM to 6:30 AM), with no duty-free lunch. You will work a five-day work week with two regular days off. Your schedule may change based on operational needs. - Travel: As needed
- Overtime: As needed, including both voluntary and potentially mandatory overtime.
- You must be willing to accept employment at Loysville Youth Development Center and commute to this location in Loysville, Perry County.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $38,515.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
