The engineering manager delivers results and is focused on execution by:
* Advancing engineering disciplines and technologies.
* Being an active participant in all areas of software engineering, operations, and deployments.
* Building a team for success that is focused on winning for the firm and the team.
* Setting and achieving difficult goals through motivation and execution.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & People Management
* Lead, coach, and develop one or more cross functional engineering squads (developers, SDETs).
* Foster a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Conduct regular 1:1s, performance feedback, growth planning, and career development for engineers.


Delivery Execution & Accountability
* Own delivery outcomes for assigned teams across sprint and release cycles.
* Drive day to day execution: backlog readiness, sprint goals, execution tracking, and unblockings.
* Partner with Product Owners to ensure stories are well defined, sequenced, and ready for development.


Technical Leadership & Quality
* Ensure teams follow engineering best practices around: Code quality, Testing and automation, Security and compliance requirements, Performance and reliability
* Actively review delivery signals (build health, test coverage, defect trends) and course correct as needed.
* Encourage pragmatic technical improvements and reduction of technical debt.


Cross Functional Collaboration
* Work closely with: Product Management on scope, trade offs, and prioritization, QA and SRE on release quality and operational readiness, Architecture and Security on standards and risk management
* Represent the team effectively in cross team forums while protecting engineers from unnecessary context switching.


Continuous Improvement & Engineering Excellence
* Drive continuous improvement in team execution, tooling usage, and SDLC practices.
* Support adoption of AI assisted development tools to improve productivity and quality.
* Identify friction points in development workflows and partner with leadership to address them.

Qualifications:

Required
* 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years of leading engineering teams.
* Proven experience leading agile engineering teams delivering complex, enterprise grade software.
* Strong understanding of modern software development practices, CI/CD, testing strategies, and cloud based systems.
* Ability to balance delivery pressure with team health and long term quality.
* Excellent communication skills with engineers, product partners, and leadership.


Preferred
* Experience working in multi team, scaled agile environments.
* Prior exposure to platform modernization, regulated environments.
* Background in SaaS, enterprise platforms, or highly available systems.
