POSITION SUMMARY: The Legal Administrative Assistant I provides foundational administrative support to attorneys and legal staff in a law office environment. This position assists with routine office tasks, document handling, and scheduling under direct supervision. Accuracy, professionalism, and a willingness to learn are essential. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist attorneys with the basic preparation and proofreading of legal documents, including correspondence and standard pleadings.
- Maintain and organize client files (electronic and physical), ensuring documents are filed correctly and consistently.
- File routine legal documents with courts and agencies, following predefined templates and procedures.
- Perform basic legal research tasks and gather supporting case materials under supervision.
- Support tracking of case timelines and calendar key court dates or deadlines.
- Communicate with clients and third parties to request documents or relay information as directed.
- Prepare billing information and track time for client invoicing.
- Provide general administrative support such as managing emails, scheduling, and document formatting.
- Perform other tasks as required by management, ensuring a flexible approach to various needs.?

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 0-2 years of administrative or legal office experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and other similar software.
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must have reliable transportation that is insured in accordance with state law, and be able to travel to courts, post offices, or other legal offices as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting.
- Perform repetitive tasks such as typing and clicking.
- Must be able to lift and move light items up to 20 pounds at times.
- Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and sit.
