Harmony Biosciences is recruiting for an Executive Director, Commercial Analytics in our Plymouth Meeting, PA location. In this role you will be responsible for partnering with Commercial stakeholders to enable them to better understand and manage their business through data driven decision making. The primary stakeholders include Sales, Marketing, Patient Services, Trade, and Market Access, with additional support to other teams as required. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of product commercialization, including the sales process and patient journey, as well as the ability to connect operations to revenue-generating activities. This role is a true data SME in the understanding of key data sources, their definition, and if/how business rules are applied during the consumption and intelligence processing. The individual in this position needs to be a specialist in conducting advanced analyses, implementing reporting in dashboards, and championing system education which will directly enable Commercial functions to maximize their understanding of our data and drive business impact.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support Commercial excellence by providing analytics and reporting to evaluate business performance and enable leadership to effectively manage their business through data driven decision making.
  • Establish process and execute to define, refine, measure, and report KPIs for the Commercial organization to gain insights into the health of the organization and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Lead development of and enhancements to requirements for reporting within Harmony's business intelligence applications for utilization across the Commercial team, and manage rollout and training for end users.
  • Act as subject matter expert for all Commercial data (HUB, SP, Veeva, APLD) to ensure appropriate and consistent utilization across the organization, as well as implementation of new data sources into business intelligence applications.
  • Lead data science projects to potentially incorporate novel/advanced techniques (e.g. machine learning) and approaches to assist with prioritizing HCP targets, field activity and messaging, and marketing tactic implementation.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize field force planning and activity, including sales force sizing and alignment, HCP targeting/tiering, and call planning (e.g. reach/frequency)
  • Partner with the Marketing team to develop and execute analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of HCP and patient marketing tactics (e.g. Marketing mix analysis on executed programming).
  • Lead initiatives to enhance the efficiency of teams to support the patient journey process and the way that data structures and reporting track/trace that journey for actionable programming and field/HUB/SP efforts.
  • Support the Market Access team in the execution and assessment of payer pull-through initiatives. Assist Market Access tea with plan/payor data clarity and look for ways to connect "wins" to programming and field initiatives.
  • Champion planning, design, development, and execution for LCM or New Product needs (both launch and long-term) related to data and analytics.
  • Assist with data linkage, business rule development/understanding, and strategic analytics in support of IC (e.g. ensure strong data underpinnings to IC planning).
  • Add commercial forecasting process with general data knowledge, trending, and then appropriate manipulation of overall forecast to IC compliant needs.
  • Partner with Corp IT, Commercial Operations, and business decision makers to continuously monitor the effectiveness and utility of our data and intelligence environments. This role would be a core member of initiatives for the assessment, evaluation, and bench marketing of our systems. This role would be pivotal contributor to design, development, and implementation of new or incremental data warehouse or intelligence systems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MS/MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • 12+ years' experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology/healthcare industry required with at least 7+ years' experience within commercial analytics functions, and 5+ years' experience managing a team
  • Knowledge of field sales and marketing functions, including sales force effectiveness, reporting, and marketing mix required
  • Knowledge of the rare disease patient journey, including market access, patient services, specialty pharmacy and closed distribution networks preferred
  • Proven ability to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis while translating the results into easily digestible messages, communications, and presentations to a broader commercial audience
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms (e.g., Qlik, Power BI, Tableau) required, including development and communication of requirements from key stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite; Advanced knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint required

Physical demands and work environment:

  • Domestic travel is estimated to be 10% of the time for this position.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision.
  • Manual dexterity required to use computers, tablets, and cell phone.
  • Continuous sitting for prolonged periods.
