Patient Service Specialist - OnSite Location: Annandale, VA 22003 Pay Rate: $19/hour Schedule: * Monday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM * Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM * Wednesday: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM * Thursday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM * Friday: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM About the Role This onsite Patient Service Specialist position supports a busy physical therapy clinic by serving as the primary point of contact for patients and clinical staff. Reliability and strong customer service skills are essential, as you will be the only person in this role on location and responsible for front desk operations. This is a 4month contracttohire opportunity with longterm growth potential within the administrative team. Key Responsibilities * Greet patients, manage checkin and checkout, and complete full patient registration. * Schedule followup appointments and handle daily front desk workflow. * Answer incoming calls and provide exceptional customer service to patients. * Verify insurance information and assist with general patient inquiries. * Enter and update documentation and physician notes in the EMR system. * Support clinicians by multitasking between patient needs, phone calls, and administrative tasks. * Maintain a reliable presence to support clinic operations and ensure timely opening and closing of the office. Top Skills Needed * Customer service experience (required) * Medical or healthcare office experience is preferred but not required * Insurance verification * Patient registration * EMR proficiency * Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment Preferred Skills * Medical terminology * Patient checkin/checkout * Medicaid or insurance knowledge * Prior authorization experience * Inbound call handling Work Environment You will work closely with several physicians and clinical staff members while independently managing the front desk.
