THE ROLE:

We are looking for our next team member tosupportthe AMD technicalengagement withthisstrategicHyperscalecustomer in theSan Jose, Californiaarea. Theideal candidate willhaveexperience with server CPU platforms, including CPU architecture, memory subsystems, PCIe/CXL, BIOS/UEFI, andcustomLinuxoperating systems.Experience with datacenter platform architecture, development, optimization, andtesting isa must.

The FAE in this role will focus on pre-sales activity to drive newAMD technologyadoptionby Meta.This positionwill alsoincludedevelopment support activity as opportunities transition from feasibility to development and production phases.You willbe responsible forall aspects of the technical engagementrequiredto support sales and accountobjectives.

Technical responsibilities with the account include:

• Collaborating with sales tocommunicate AMD's competitive advantages forcustomer workloads

• Concept, architecture, and implementation of new systemsbased onAMDdatacenter computing technologies

• Onsite and remoteengineeringsupport through the development process, including tools, documentation, implementation, and debug

• Coordinatingforward lookingstrategic technicalinitiatives/investigations

• Leadingperformance optimization efforts forcomputeand networkingworkloads

• Advocating within AMD for new features/technologyto meetuniquecustomer needs

• Training customer on AMD product features, tools, testing, and optimization.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) with a balance of hardware, systemarchitectureand application softwareexpertise

• Proventrack recordin CPU and server system architecture, server benchmarks,and server platform enablement

• Excellent problem-solving, time-management, prioritization, and organizational skills, able to lead complex problems, involving multi-disciplined, multi-functional teams andto balancemany priorities at once

• Ability to cultivate strong internal (sales, marketing, engineering) and external (customer) relationships

• Willing to travel up to10%(mostly domestic)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Articulate the benefits of AMD based technology offerings forinternalMeta teams

• Provide hands-on, expert-level technical guidance to systems engineers, performance engineers,and application developers

• Partner with other AMD subject matter authorities to tackle specific customer challenges

• Lead end to end technical solution design, including architecture definition, in house validation, and deployment readiness

• Own complex technical issues end to end, frominitialcustomer discovery through root cause analysis, resolution, and production readiness

• Providing technicalassistanceto sales for overall account strategy based on AMD datacenter solutions

• Gather a solid understanding of the competitive landscape and clearly articulate the technical differentiation and value proposition associated with AMD versus our competitors

• Drive customer feedback into AMD sales, businessunitand engineering teams

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Proven experience as a senior level engineer (or equivalent technical role) balanced with experience in a customer-facing role

• Proven experience in server platform architecture and/or platform development experience

• Proven knowledge in any of theseapplication areas: cloud computing / benchmarking, high performance computing, networking

• Expertisein serverLinux-based operating systems

• Hands on experience in the setup and configuration of server systems including software, networking and storage infrastructure, and a proven understanding of server hardware ecosystem at the node,rackand datacenter level

• Experience in application/workload profiling, tuning,performanceassessmentand UEFIBIOS/platform firmware a plus

• Someone with the desire to continuously learn

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred)
