Position Overview

The Senior Commercial Banking Administrator (Sr. CBA) is responsible for assisting a team of Commercial Bankers with their daily tasks. This includes ordering third party diligence reports for loan files, ordering appraisals reports, assisting Commercial Bankers with file organization, and interacting with commercial clients.

The Senior CBA has greater expertise in their role and serves as a Subject Matter Expert to their peers and other business partners; may be involved in handling more complex banking portfolios and/or supporting a larger team of Commercial Bankers.

Essential Job Functions



  • Provides top quality service to business clients including processing loan payments, processing account transfers, and resolving misc. servicing issues.
  • Serves as key bank contact for all client banking needs including providing warm internal hand-offs to other departments as needed.
  • Serves as document coordinator to ensure proper documentation is gathered for new loans, renewals, and covenant monitoring. This includes ordering third party due diligence reports (flood certificate, certificate of good standing, suits liens and judgements, etc.) as required for loan underwriting. These items are expected to be completed in 24 hours.
  • Runs and tracks key reports to identify and follow up on past dues, renewals, and other actionable account data.
  • Assists Commercial Bankers with their financial tracking items, collecting the document from the customer or lender, uploading the document to Onbase and adjusting the tracking date.
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert amongst peers and business partners.
  • Understands and may work with more complex commercial banking portfolios and/or support a larger commercial banking team.
  • Works on special projects as needed.


Additional Responsibilities



  • Assists Supervisor in preparing Memos and Procedures for special projects and assignments as requested.
  • Participates in post-closing error resolution with Loan Servicing.
  • Provide backup support to the Executive Assistant, providing assistance preparing monthly and quarterly board reports.
  • Dependent upon portfolio size, and workflow volume, may be involved in:

    • Opening commercial accounts, gathering all required due diligence, obtaining signed account documents and uploading documents to Onbase.
    • Partnering with Treasury Management operations in support of commercial client's online banking requirement. For Commercial groups with high volume transactions and customer base, may leverage Treasury Management Commercial Team for these client needs.
    • Capture and maintain customer information files and ensure files meet compliance documentation standards.




Minimum Requirements



  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and three or more years of banking that includes at least one year of commercial banking, loan support, title, legal or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Competencies



  • Commercial Banking and/or Loan documentation experience
  • Knowledge of commercial documentation including third party due diligence documents/reports.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills with excellent attention to detail and follow up.
  • Works well independently and on a team


Preferred, but not required



  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Three or more years of Commercial Banking strongly preferred.

Location Details:

This position is considered a hybrid role. With management approval, an incumbent may work a combination of remote and onsite work to perform the regular responsibilities of the role. Actual schedule requirements may vary based upon business needs.

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay: $62,000 - $77,000 annually

Old Second is committed to fair and equitable pay practices. Pay is dependent upon the pay range and the incumbent's knowledge, skills and experience.
