| Position Highlights |
The Custodian will work in public spaces, classrooms, labs and offices of assigned buildings on the University campus. Custodians are working on cleaning these rooms/areas with providing professional housekeeping duties to provide building tenants with clean and inviting work environments. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Sweeps, mops, polishes and strips floors in rooms and halls.
- Dusts and/or polishes furniture, blinds and equipment.
- Vacuums, spot cleans and/or extracts carpets, and furniture using commercial vacuum cleaners and extraction equipment.
- Assures all safety precautions are followed in the workplace.
- Cleans restrooms and fills dispensaries. This includes emptying trash cans, restocking of paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
- Mopping of bathroom floors using housekeeping chemicals.
- Reports malfunctions of bathroom fixtures, light fixtures and/or damages to room and hall furnishings to supervisor.
- May also replace light bulbs.
- Initiates work orders for repair/maintenance.
- Moves furniture, equipment or fixtures as required.
- Stocks area with appropriate supplies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Good knowledge and ability to properly use custodial equipment.
- Ability to use machinery such as vacuums, floor buffers, and pressure washers.
- Communicates effectively in a professional manner.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and climb stairs.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
