The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Inspection Supervisorto work out of its state-of-the-art facility inSidney, NY.

The Inspection Supervisorwill lead and manage the inspection employees to ensure aerospace products conform to drawings, specifications and customer requirements while maintaining compliance with the AS9100 quality management system.

The key responsibilities of this Inspection Supervisorinclude, but are not limited to:



  • Supervise all hourly inspection employees
  • Provide customer support for customer current issues
  • Assign workloads to hourly inspectors
  • Schedule overtime as required by workload, maintain employee time keeping, schedule vacations based on typical workload
  • Learn all aspects of inspection work (should understand how test equipment works and what drives the inspection requirements)
  • Validate inspector rejections
  • Prioritize customer source product inspection as required
  • Interface with customer source inspector on-site, aide and support
  • Become delegated source inspector for customers that need coverage
  • Help inspectors with the interpretation of drawings and routines
  • Oversee the inspector training as required by the quality manual
  • Abide by collective bargaining unit rules and all safety rules and regulations
  • Act as the primary interface for Customer Service received phone and email issues and questions
  • Coordinate action items with quality engineers, process engineers, manufacturing engineers, and all other required resources to satisfy customer needs
  • Lead investigative teams and efforts as required to satisfy timelines and customer needs
  • Utilize problem solving techniques and tools during investigations to assure full and final resolution of issue
  • Maintain constant interface with customer until issue is resolved to customer approval
  • Create and update inspection routines to meet customer requirements
  • Supervisor and manager responsibilities related to EHS:

    • Ensure safe work practices are being followed by employees
    • Ensure direct reports attend required EHS trainings
    • Understand training requirements for tasks that are being performed
    • Ensure incidents and near misses are appropriately reported and corrective actions are implemented

Salary: $62,354 - $75,000

The Person

The key skills and qualities of aInspection Supervisorat Amphenol Aerospace Operations:



  • Minimum of a two-year degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Familiarity with inspection tools
  • Working knowledge of the Quality Manual, military specifications, ITAR, and the Quality System
  • Strong understanding of AS9100 requirements and aerospace drawings/specifications
  • Experience with inspection tools (CMM, calipers, micrometers, optical, gauges) and measurement techniques
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Ability to work in a production environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Capable of working with and motivating employees to achieve company goals
  • Leadership skills, problem-solving, and familiarity with QA systems and audit requirements
  • Ability to create and document inspection routines in a clear, concise, and logical form for employees to follow
  • Frequent sitting, lifting (11-20 pounds), walking, standing, and computer use
  • Occasional reaching, twisting, bending, climbing, kneeling, and squatting
  • Ability to work overtime as required to support the inspection teams
