Packager Job Duties:

  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
  • Coordinate with shipping, outsource and inspection departments to ensure parts are packaged in a manner that allows for on-time delivery, while visually inspecting parts for defects.
  • Clean parts using both sonic cleaner and manual methods.
  • Package parts in bags utilizing the vacuum sealer prior to packaging in boxes.
  • Maintain organization of the packaging station. This includes, but is not limited to, keeping inventory of packaging supplies, and preparation of necessary bags and boxes needed for shipping parts.
  • Complete all required recording and reporting forms and documentation accurately, and in a timely fashion.
  • Promptly and properly identify any nonconforming parts and move them to quarantine area immediately.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare parts for shipping to the customer by cleaning, packaging, marking and making proper labels.
  • Create and maintain an inventory list of materials needed for cleaning and packaging and notify supervisor when more materials are needed.
  • Coordinate with different departments on when resources are needed and plan accordingly.

Key Deliverables:

This position is directly related to parts being packaged in a manner to comply with customer specifications, prevent damage to the part during shipping and to successful on time delivery of orders to customers.

Job Competencies

  • Position should be familiar operating basic computer programs, such as: Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe and Acrobat Reader. Person should also be proficient in using a digital camera, and uploading pictures into documentation.
  • Position should be proficient and familiar with tight tolerances, blue prints, and deciphering information that needs present to adhere to customer specifications.
  • Position should show an extreme attention to detail in order to recognize and document changes made on parts, components or assemblies.
  • Applicant should have clear and effective communication skills verbally, visually or both in order to communicate with internal or external customers.
  • Candidate will have to be able to multi-task and prioritize according to the Warehouse & Shipping Supervisor's or the shippers' needs. At times this position will have to change direction with little or no notice while keeping a calm demeanor in order to complete the task presented.
  • This position will be dealing with multiple people with different personalities. The candidate needs to be able to work closely with these personalities in order to deliver an effective work flow.

Job Requirements

  • Education, Experience, Certifications, Licenses High school diploma (or appropriate work experience). Valid drivers license preferred.
  • Computer Skills Job requires basic computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including ERP system, spreadsheets, email and use of scheduling software.
  • Language Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to successfully communicate complex technology topics to personnel with a wide range of skills and experience.
  • Must know simple mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Preferred: Candidate knows how to convert fractions to decimals.
  • Ability to visualize and plan out detailed work instructions.
  • This role requires lifting, standing, sitting and pulling of up to 70 pounds, in or around a clean room environment repeatedly throughout the day.
  • The work environment includes both the office and the manufacturing floor. Employees may experience loud noises at times during the day.
