Job Description:

Airbus Americas, Inc is looking for a Procurement Cabin FAL Interface III to join our team based in Mobile, AL.

New opportunity to join the FAL Mobile Procurement Cabin Interface Front Office team. The primary responsibility is to manage the on-site support activities of cabin suppliers at the Mobile Final Assembly Line (FAL). The goal is to ensure the timely and quality completion of supplied cabin equipment and materials.

The role involves managing and resolving open Non-Conformities (NCs), Outstanding Work (OSW), and missing parts in collaboration with the On-Site Support (OSS) Supplier teams. The incumbent will monitor the performance and reactivity of the OSS teams and act as a focal point for supplier management activities, working closely with European and US Procurement and Supply Chain Quality teams, as well as various Airbus stakeholders (FAL, Delivery Center, etc.).

Your Working Environment:

On 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your Challenges:

Act as Cabin Procurement Interface for the A320 FAL in Mobile :

  • Manage outstanding work and non conformity issues related to cabin furnishing and deliveries of cabin equipment; ensure full transparency and availability at cabin furnishing start. Mitigate risks and implement corrective actions and recovery plans to allow AIRBUS planning. Avoid interruptions of the AIRBUS assembly and flight line processes in close coordination with the back office, including the setting of priorities.

  • Analyze interruptions, shortages, failures in the delivery processes. Support to return shipments of Cabin equipment to either suppliers, customers or back to the stock at Airbus.

  • Ensure clear communication with the A320 FAL US and the Delivery Center through weekly reports and regular participation in operational meetings.

  • Provide Key Performance Indicators and evaluations related to cabin supplier activities and the quality of deliverables, including root cause analysis and action proposals.

  • Support daily business operations

Outstanding work Management

  • Manage all outstanding work and non conformities activities requiring escalation as interface between the field support teams and their home bases, coordinate with Procurement Operations functions.

  • Supplier & OSS coordination: Ensure operational reactivity of OSS teams, measure reactivity

  • Serve as the focal point for Supplier management activities according to Airbus processes.

  • Ensure quality in the process to achieve customer satisfaction with the cabin.

  • Manage operations with subcontractor focal points

  • Stakeholder Management Support: Daily resource management internal Airbus and with OSS

  • Escalation of operational issues

Quality FAL & Supplier Collaboration

  • Liability collaboration process (internal & external)

  • Collaborate with FAL to reduce the inflow of damages

  • Perform other Cabin equipment related duties and collaborate in internal projects as assigned

  • Identify and implement improvements in daily business to improve supplier reactivity and performance

  • Ensure adherence of Cabin On site Support teams to Airbus processes

Technical Leadership

  • Launch Root cause analysis and implement corrective actions when required according to Airbus processes.

  • First level of escalation for operations for the team

  • Be able to identify risks in operations and prevent escalations

  • Participate/Manage and lead at times, "long term projects", defining the action plan and actions needed and establishing milestones (example, HoVs surveillance, introduction of new suppliers...)

  • Manage in a global manners topics like QSRs and DQNs that may impact several members of the team

  • Quick understanding of the cabin technical issues in all areas of the site (FAL and FL) and deep knowledge of the cabin procurement processes

  • Focal point for Customer returns and CSIPs

Team Leadership

  • Train, mentor and coach Cabin Procurement Front Office Support employees to ensure a successful and sustainable Cabin management.

  • Supervise operations on a daily basis to ensure the good decisions are being taken within the team, respecting the processes and the limitations

  • Drive and implement operational improvements to optimize the day to day work

  • Act as deputy of the Team Leader / Team manager

  • Back up for the rest of the members of the team

  • Beyond your core perimeter, you will perform other Procurement related duties and contribute to internal projects as assigned by leadership

Your Boarding Pass:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.

  • Required minimum eight (8) years of experience working with non-conformity and/or out-standing work management in the aerospace industry.

  • Strong knowledge of SAP

  • Strong relationship building skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability

  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service

  • Knowledge of standard business and quality practices

  • You have very good knowledge of Industrial and aerospace Businesses.

  • You have a proven background in Supply-Chain managing suppliers

  • Good knowledge of Non Conformity processes and rework processes in Operations.

  • Ability to connect to internal customers, listen, understand operational issues

  • Assertiveness towards suppliers, protecting business interests, while being fair and collaborative

  • Good project management skills

  • Can do attitude, looking for solutions, bringing people together

  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills in English

Travel Required:

  • Approximately 10% depending on departmental needs

  • Authorized to Work in the US without sponsorship

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to carry and lift documents, tools, drawings and electronic equipment up to 30lbs.

  • Able to push/pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on a computer.

  • Able to walk inside and outside buildings.

  • Able to use stairs and go inside the ACs
