The Manufacturing Solutions Analyst is an individual contributor accountable for understanding the business and manufacturing processes for Armstrong's manufacturing operations, as well as the applications supported by the Corporate Enterprise System (CES) and leveraging that knowledge to provide business support and solutions through CES. The successful analyst works closely with other CES application teams, Infrastructure Services, and business partners to support, design and implement innovative and effective solutions for business problems.

What You'll Do

  • Provide day-to-day on-site support for IT systems utilized at our manufacturing operation facilities.
  • Develop collaboration strategies to support Armstrong's business goals, leveraging Microsoft 365 and other tools as appropriate
  • Communicate with internal clients regarding proposed solutions, timelines, issues, etc.
  • Operate as a change agent in delivering long-term solutions that are adaptable to future trends and services
  • Manage projects with small teams (1-3 resources) related to IT solutions development ensuring on time and quality delivery
  • Lead effort to migrate or upgrade business and manufacturing software, as appropriate
  • Configure collaboration platform to meet users' expectations
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to users and other support staff
  • Establish procedures and recommend policies for software solutions utilized at the manufacturing sites
  • Acts as designer of new, complex business processes within supported areas that have a high impact on business results
  • Designs and implements extensions or additions to IT applications environment
  • Participates in the development of processes using business process knowledge to verify that new processes and systems provide integrated solutions
  • Performs project management role for assigned projects, as necessary
  • Proactively determines manufacturing application configuration for new and/or enhanced capabilities
  • Collaborates with peers to ensure that all changes to CES are performed in accordance with standard procedures and the AITS Project Life Cycle
  • Delivers against the operating plan portfolio and personal goals to manage the development, enhancement, and maintenance of CES Processes
  • Maintains current knowledge of existing and emerging capabilities of technologies utilized at the manufacturing site through contact with peers and associates, as well appropriate training from vendors or other sources
  • Understands and defines the impact of changing business requirements on CES processes and systems
  • Leads large and/or complex projects within the CES environment which entail cross-functional team and, in many cases, cross-business unit participation
  • Configures applications to meet the changing needs of the business
  • Designs integration tests, user acceptance tests, and implementation approaches for major functional areas
  • Understands and leverages cross-application functionality and other technical capabilities of CES infrastructure
  • Ensures CES methodology and AITS Project Life Cycle processes are followed

  • Knowledge and understanding of service desk ticketing systems and ITIL best practices.
  • Ability to learn and understand software utilized for manufacturing and manufacturing support aspects.

    • Daily intra and inter-departmental interactions.

This includes working in office environment, near manufacturing equipment, near ovens, and dusty environments. Noise levels vary depending on location. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment when entering the floor of manufacturing facilities based on the specific requirements of each location.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field required, with a concentration in the supported business area.
  • 5+ years of technical analysis or process management
  • Strong analytical skills, applied to both IT applications and business processes design, preferably in manufacturing environment

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Certification in either a process discipline (ITIL, PMI, Six Sigma) or technical discipline (SAP, Data Warehousing).

  • Demonstrable skills in troubleshooting for, communicating with, and effectively supporting non-technical internal customers
  • Experience working with various versions of SharePoint
  • Experience with versioning and Change Control Software (Team Foundation Services preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365
  • Experience with mobile/tablet based collaboration tools and services
  • Experience with PowerShell or related scripting tools
  • Experience with support of large multi-site environments
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure AD and related cloud applications
  • Experience with alternative authentication mechanisms for purposes of Single Sign On
  • Experience supporting cloud-based collaboration clients like Office 365
  • Experience with application of security best practices applied to collaboration platforms like Exchange, Active Directory, Instant Messaging, MDMs, etc.
  • Microsoft SQL Knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience in area of assigned responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of technologies commonly utilized in a manufacturing environment.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details in business language and relate technical concepts to a business impact.
  • Ability to build relationships and willingness to communicate with customer groups.
  • Strong statistical, analytical and advanced problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Broad working knowledge of application support principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate strategy, vision and direction and to embrace and facilitate change
