Join a dynamic and forward-thinking organization dedicated to building innovative solutions that empower individuals and drive progress. As a partner with Aquent, we are seeking exceptional talent to contribute to a collaborative environment where your expertise directly shapes the future of our offerings. This is an opportunity to be part of a team that values creativity, technical excellence, and a passion for making a tangible difference in the lives of our users.

Are you a seasoned engineer ready to make a significant impact on critical systems and mentor others to achieve technical excellence? We are searching for a Senior Software Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is eager to take ownership of challenging projects. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing robust, scalable solutions that directly influence our product's architecture and user experience. Your contributions will not only elevate our technical capabilities but also foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.

**What You'll Do**

* Lead the development and testing of core systems and services, ensuring high quality and reliability.

* Actively participate in shaping the technical architecture, contributing to strategic decisions that define our product's future.

* Translate complex product requirements into clear user stories and robust technical solutions.

* Deliver highly available and scalable services, ensuring seamless performance in a production environment.

* Mentor fellow engineers, fostering a strong technical culture and supporting team growth and development.

* Generate innovative ideas for new initiatives and technologies, driving continuous improvement and forward-thinking solutions.

* Communicate effectively with project leads, product managers, and other software developers to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.

**What You'll Need**

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

* 4+ years of programming experience, ideally with modern technology stacks.

* 2+ years of programming experience with Java, Kotlin, or Scala.

* A proven understanding of relational databases and Object-Relational Mappers (ORMs).

* Experience working on a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) or microservice-based application.

* Willingness to collaborate closely with team members, roll up your sleeves, and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.

* A solid sense of responsibility, demonstrating the ability to drive projects from inception to successful completion.

* An affinity for solving complex problems and shipping impactful features, prioritizing results over overly polished code or architecture.

* Experience working in a collaborative coding environment, including refining designs, participating in code reviews, and managing pull requests.

**Nice to Have**

* Interest in personal finance.

* Experience managing personal investments or experience with financial products like loans.

* Experience scaling highly available, mission-critical systems.

* Full-stack experience, whether specializing in systems (e.g., containerization, operating systems), databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), or front-end development (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React).
