Job Description:

The Desktop Systems Specialist provides onsite and remote technical support for enduser systems and manufacturing environments. This role is responsible for diagnosing, deploying, configuring, and supporting desktop systems, peripherals, and conference room technologies. The position requires strong technical knowledge, effective communication skills, and the ability to deliver highquality customer support in a fastpaced production and office environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide fulltime onsite IT support (40 hours/week) to local and remote employees through walkup support, phone, email, and ticketing systems.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, configure, deploy, and support desktops, laptops, manufacturing workstations, and related tools impacting production.

  • Support and maintain peripheral and collaboration technologies, including printers, phones, and conference room audiovisual systems.

  • Support endpoint protection, access control, and data integrity across manufacturing and office devices.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal users, including manufacturing engineers, managers, executives, and crossfunctional IT teams.

  • Document incidents, resolutions, and procedures; escalate complex issues to appropriate IT teams or management as needed.

  • Provide user training and guidance on hardware, software, collaboration tools, and conference room systems.

  • Follow established IT processes, service level expectations, and security standards.

Preferred Skills and Experiences:
  • Minimum of 3 years of handson experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical support issues.

  • Associate degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Solid understanding of computer and network systems, including basic networking concepts (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, VLANs).

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 admin centers, SCCM, Windows operating systems (current and legacy), Active Directory, Microsoft Office applications, and IT ticketing systems.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to nontechnical users.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, respond with appropriate urgency, and support limitedscope projects.

  • Experience supporting a manufacturing, lab, or production environment preferred.

Working Conditions:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending, stooping, or crouching, up to 8 hours per day.

  • Occasional lifting of equipment up to 25 lbs.

  • Work area with fluorescent lighting, air conditioning, and moderate to loud noise levels.

  • Participation in an oncall rotation, including evenings or weekends, up to two times per quarter.

  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment in accordance with semiconductor protocols.

  • Ability to wear required cleanroom protective clothing and equipment for up to 8 hours per day (excluding breaks).

Pay Range:

$34.30 - $45.05

Pay Range Explained:

This role in Livermore, California pays between $34.30 and $45.05 per hour, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations. We offer a full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, a 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), and paid time off. You'll also be eligible for quarterly profit-sharing bonuses and flexible spending or savings accounts.
