Primary Duties

  • Conduct intakes, inventories, and assessments to establish employment goals
  • Conduct job search and placement activities
  • Provide job coaching and long-term support services
  • Develop positive relationships with businesses, community agencies, other departments, and other vendors
  • Provide general case management including detailed report writing
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure that employees provide comprehensive and appropriate services to persons receiving services in conjunction with contract specifications and supervisory instructions. Identify, develop, and place individuals directly referred by DORS or DRS, CSB and school system into competitive employment within the designated time fame
  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with local community employers
  • Establish, develop, and maintain effective relationships with diverse businesses, and complex state, local, and nonprofit entities toward the goal of effecting job placement
  • Conduct a variety of job search and placement focused activities to include any one or a combination of: supplemental community resource referral, resume preparation, interview skill development and practice, job fair and employment opportunity identification, reasonable accommodation and assistive technology consultation, job-site and task analysis, situational assessment, travel training, employment follow-up and follow-along
  • Conduct interest inventories, assessment interviews and job skills training for referred consumers to develop a targeted job search strategy and make appropriate job matches
  • Actively engage in direct, one-to-one service delivery activities with consumers assigned
  • Perform task and job site analysis on selected job sites to assure appropriate job matches
  • Provide consultation and guidance to employers and business representatives to foster positive employer-consumer work relationships. Communicate with Site Directors and Rehabilitation Counselor regarding all job search activities
  • Maintain up-to-date employee information as required for case files and funding sources.
  • Complete in an accurate and timely manner all monthly billing reports, consumer reports and other supporting documentation
  • Maintain case records according to CARF standards

Qualifications: Educations, Experience and Certifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Marketing, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling or an Associate's degree plus two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • 1-2 years of volunteer, internship, or employment experience relevant to this position
  • A strong interest in advocating for individuals with disabilities to gain and maintain employment, and achieve independence
  • Job, internship, and/or volunteer development/placement experience
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
  • Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation when performing work related travel. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR).
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities strongly preferred (for candidates with bachelor's degrees)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking and familiarity with Hispanic/Latino culture, challenges, and preferences
  • Experience in marketing/sales

  • Must be a well-organized, self-motivated and self-directed individual who is a team player
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and self-manage a schedule
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people of all cultures/backgrounds
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal communication and writing skills
  • Must be able to handle confidential and delicate matters with diplomacy and be able to see the big picture as it relates to the overall development of an organization that strives for excellence

Supervision Received

The incumbent normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. The employee may occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
