The HVAC Technician must be a Journeyman/woman skilled craftsman in their trade and have a minimum of five (5) years' actual, practical working experience in the industrial HVAC mechanical equipment service industry. Interaction with customers, ability, and desire to develop technical skills, attention to detail while on site, promoting safety and constant communication play a key role in this position. Must be computer literate and tech savvy. Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No supervisory responsibilities.
- May assist in training newly hired HVAC Technicians.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs preventative, corrective maintenance, and repairs on following unit types:
- Air-Cooled and Centrifugal Chillers greater than 1000 tons
- Fan coils
- Ductless Splits
- Split AC units
- Swamp coolers
- Refrigeration Units
- Be the first responder to service calls. The contract requires 30-minutes response to service calls during normal working hours. Call vendors for covered equipment.
- Communicate and record observations about facility equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancement and repair.
- Monitor facility by conducting facility walkthroughs, equipment and system monitoring and inspection.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repairs equipment and building systems
- Ensure work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirements.
- Work with subcontractors on equipment repair, preventative maintenance, and calibration.
- Recommend spare parts and supply purchases for facility equipment
- Accurately maintain/complete all equipment logbooks and maintenance records as required
- Ensure the manner in which work is performed is in compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and any other applicable requirements.
- Must be able and willing to work flexible shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency calls, if necessary.

Education and Experience:
- Mechanical Journeyman License.
- 5+ Years as Journeyman at facility greater than 20,000 SqFt. (residential / light commercial / commercial HVAC / mechanical troubleshooting experience.)
- 30-Hour OSHA Certification.
- Valid driver's license, appropriate licenses to work with refrigerants, boiler and steam operational & service knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
- May have to spend prolonged outside exposed to inclement weather and/or temperatures.
- Must have the ability to use hand tools, lift/carry 50 lbs., and to work on ladders/step stools.
